Completey gutted and attractively refurbised but with the pub retaining a nice atmosphere and decor, opened just before Christmas there is now a large Brasserie dining area where the old tumble down buildings used to be. The bar staff were friendly and attentive, and the pub is extremely popular serving a good range of beers, Otter Amber Ale, Meantime London Pale and Fullers London Pride, the house red wine was also extremely good. Pretty good and still feels like a pub, albeit a modern up-market version

The Sun in Chobham has been a great little pub in the High Street for many years but now seems to suffer from lack of funds and in a poor state outside. The car park is full of craters, the outbuildings falling down (for the last 3 years) and just propped up, the garden overgrown and which was once lovely. Unfortunately they have recently put in a TV on the wonderful brick wall over the fireplace (dumb down, why do people do this?). The management behind the bar are nice and friendly but seem temporary and have no great experience in running an English pub. Beers are very good, customers can be cliquey but this is usual for Surrey, we are all guilty here!! A nice village pub and I sincerely hope they sort out their financial problems and re-invest in the site - Still Recommended.

TRAD PUB BEAMS HORSESHOES BRASS PANS ECT I WENT THERE FOR A CHANGE LAST WEEK THESE TYPE PUBS CAN BE "CLICKY" WITH ALKIE REGULARS PROPPING UP THE BAR AND SURREY JAG DRIVERS EXTRAS FROM "HOWARDS WAY " IT HAS BEEN PRETTY DEAD OF LATE ....THERE WAS A JAZZ BAND ON BUT FINISHED AS SOON AS I GOT IN ...I KNOW I WAS LATE 10.30PM! ONE BAR STAFF WAS LET GO AFTER I HAD FINISHED MY FIRST PINT AND HAD TO DEAL WITH THE MISERABLE LANDLORD/MANAGER WHO SEEMED TO BE RUSHING AROUND CLEARING UP EARLY.. SO SAW MY CHANCE AND GOT UP TO THE BAR 10.50 HE SHOOK HIS HEAD NOT TONITE! NO EXPLANATION .......I DONT REALLY CARE IF 50 PUBS ARE CLOSING A WEEK WITH THESE RELICS FROM THE PAST STILL FESTERING ............... STILL BEST NOT TO BE TOO DOWN ABOUT IT THE BUILDINGS CAN ALL BE RESURRECTED INTO TAKE-AWAYS!

Traditional looking pub. Courage Best (3.10), Directors (3.20) and Adnams Lighthouse (3.20). Lighhouse was ok. Friendly enough, quiet early Sunday lunchtime.

Town centre pub on a busy main road, a bit tatty but quite nice. Friendly staff, cheap food. Several real ales on including one that is brewed exclusively for this pub: "In bourne and bread" ale. Brewed with treacle apparently somewhere in Dorset (Sixpenny brewery??). Strong flavour & very nice indeed.

We visited this pub last Saturday evening. The beer was good, but we were surprised at the lack of customers-particularly as this is the only pub in the centre of the village-there was no-one in the restaurant. It is a nice traditional english pub.

It was a busy carnival day when we visited during a long walk. Cracking pints of Bourne and Blond (I think it was called) and a lively crowd inside and out. I normally baulk at drinking out of a plastic 'glass' but it was due to the busy period I guess - the beer still tasted good. I'm surprised it isn't in the Beer Guide quite frankly.

The Sun Inn is everything you would hope for in an old, traditional, English pub. My wife and I spend every second month living in France and one of the things I miss is a meal in a traditional pub together with real English ale. We found the Sun Inn by chance a year ago (October 2008) when we just happened to notice the pub whilst meandering our way to Woking. Since then we have made two more purposeful trips just to have a meal there. It is by no means our local as we live in Bedfordshire - a good hour and a half away! It is easy to get to for anyone wanting a break from travelling on the M25 or the M3.
On our first visit the cellar was flooded and the manager was unable to change the empty barrels so I was limited in my choice of beer. On our subsequent visits, however, there were a few more to choose from. I recommend the Hogs Back ales. On each visit we found there to be a good meal choice and the food is of the highest quality and served in generous portions at very reasonable prices.
All in all, we can wholeheartedly recommend the Sun Inn at Chobham - the epitome of a traditional, old English Inn.

We finished here for late lunch after a short (8 miles) hike around the Chobham/Windlesham area and enjoyed two excellent pints of Wayland's Addlestone Ale and a portion of Potato Wedges. Will be back.

Totally agree with Surreypubgoer, this place is a proper old school pub - they do jazz and sunday lunch and a fine selection of ales - what could be better? I travel all the way from Surbiton...nuff said.

A great old style pub. Has live music on Tuesdays and Saturdays. On Tuesdays a guy called Flick plays and musicians are encouraged to bring along their instrument and join in. On Saturdays there are great local bands like Six Miles Away, The Flying Tigers and The Undercovers. Nice pint too!

Under newish management. We had a brilliant meal here in January 2008. Everything we ordered was first class and presented well.

The sun Inn has just been taken over by a catering company called Avid Cactus. The food was excellent. The pub retains its 15th centuary feel with a stylish resturant area, some light and jazzy music too. welcome back to the Sun Inn!!

Used to have a good Indian restaurant in the back which has now disappeared - still have tables and a menu but OMG, what an absolutely terrible menu it is. We walked out tonight and went elsewhere. Burger and chips, scampi and chips, gammon and chips...
