Three reasonable beers. Nice old beams. OK pub food.

Pub grub, but OK and good well kept ales. Nice bar area and real fire.

Very average service with a premium price tag

Excellent bar meals with fast and friendly service. Club sandwiches were huge. Clean and pleasant surroundings.

A great pub serving great food and drink at reasonable prices. I highly recommend the venison pie, though it's only on the summer menu, so try it while you can! Apple crumble with ice cream is also fantastic! Maybe needs a wider choice of ales (currently only has 3).
Service also top-notch. Very friendly and helpful staff. The locals are all pretty decent folk too. Clean and well-kept.

We were referred to the Pub by the Four Seasons - Dogmersfield Park; we have been there at least 4 times in the past year; each time, the food was excellent and we were happily greeted and treated very nicely indeed. The variety of food was wonderful and they seemed to have everything available as advertised! Well done! Thank you!

Pooty's comment "I understand that it has new owners" is wrong and you may have confused The Plume of Feathers with The Hampshire Arms - which has recently reopened and is under new management.
The comment about pork/bacon/ham is also strange as when I last ate there the menu was not what I would describe as limited. I was in the restaurant though - so can't comment on the bar snacks. However a quick look at the Plume of Feather's website (it has a menu) makes me wonder if you might have been in another pub!
I have always enjoyed eating at The Plume and the beer is well kept.

I went there for food on Saturday night (4/10/08). I understand that it has new owners. Service was good to start off with but then they seemed to forget about us as when we wanted drinks later on it was hard to get hold of the serving staff. Food was a bit limited. Everything seemed to have pork/bacon/ham in it which I don't eat. Food was vey average. My scallop and mussel starter had very small pieces of scallop/mussel in it. My wifes stater was a sort of canelloni. The canelloni pasta was dry and hard with the edges slightly burnt. Her main Chicken dish had 3 small pieces of chicken. It would have been nicer to have a whole/sliced breast piece. Overall - average.

Fantastic pub - really friendly with a good wine list. Food is good although more frequent changes of menu would be appreciated. Portions are pretty huge - you should visit again Anonymous!
