Average experience. They were just about to close for the afternoon (which we didn't know until we got there) so it was nice of the chef to agree to take our order - 2 homemade burgers n chips @10.95 each. Turned out to be somewhat disappointing - burger meat was a bit dry and was only served with a few slices of gerkin - not a lettuce or tomato in sight. Chips were ok. Comes with a tiny serving of coleslaw on the side. Not worth 11 really.
They had 3 ales on tap - we went for the Abbot Ale which was nice. Although when I asked the barman (landlord?) if I could try each of them he reacted like I was asking for a golden egg! Every other place I've been to and asked for this they have had no issue with this request - I think he was just eager to close up. He even locked up when we had finished our meals but were still having our drink. Ok, we were outside but it still seemed rather rude.
The inside of the pub itself i found to be a bit dingey and not all that inviting or comfy. We ate outside though as it was hot and sunny but not sure I would enjoy sitting inside if the weather didn't favour outdoor eating.

Enjoyed a lovely meal at The Horns, welcoming and friendly, live bands playing, food was terrific - and certainly not the run-of-the-mill standard scampi and chips. Food arrived in good time, generous portions and very well presented. This pub is a hidden gem! I've lived in the local area for years and not visited this pub before, but I'll certainly be going back! A*****

New landlord making a go of what is a fairly uninspiring building. Good food and ale. Love the Thursday music nights. Worth a visit.

Average home cooked style pub grub. Nothing special. Would not choose to go here again.

A pleasant local pub

Recently dropped by this pub to see what it was like. Initial thoughts are that it caters more for food customers than beer drinkers as you are met by a number of reserved tables. Only two ales on (Ruddles & Olde Trip) but both were of a good quality. Didn't try the food (roasts are 10 by the way) but from what I could tell these were extremely popular with other customers. Staff were very efficient and friendly. I feel that this pub deserves to do well and I will probably drop by again in the summer but only if I am passing. For a food pub it would score well but for a drinkers pub only a 6.

Used to be a regular haunt for a bite to eat and few pints on a Friday night, not anymore. I can't stand eating in a pub which let's a long haired dog roam free. Beer is good, service up and down depending on the landlady's mood.
