In Oct 16 it had closed again. I think this might be the end for this village pub. Watch out for Tesco Express.

Had a few landlord changes recently and there must be pressure to increase sales - so use your local boozer or lose it. Friendly, good beers and staff that remember what your drinking so buying rounds makes you think you're a regular.

What a lovely Pub to go too. Great Manager and great staff. They make you feel very very welcome and can not do more for you. The service was great and staff very helpful even though it was busy. Food was fab nice hot and very fresh. Great garden for kids to run round and play in. Great selection on food and largers. What i liked about the food i was able to say can i not have that filling but add this which was not a problem Very friendly people in there and great pub to watch the football today, all laughs and jokes which i like in pub. A place i would go back to as it was so friendly and great locals.

Returned after an extended absence and I must say it has improved but you have to be lucky which night you drop in. Some nights it's really great but another it will be really loud - due to the low ceiling of the extension. Been a regular for about 20 years on and off. For the moment it's back on.

Great village Pub

Traditional village pub, which has been updated to include TV screens and extended too. I have eaten here a few times & been pleased with the meals and service. Drinks prices higher than in town, but I guess they have to earn the money to stay open & it would be a shame to lose the local village pub. Can't please everyone - dogs are allowed inside, which can put you off eating, but my parents love not having to leave their tiny dog in the car. Sometimes the "old regulars" think they own the place and talk very loudly - which can be a bit annoying when you're trying to watch the football in peace, but then they spend far more down there than I do, so how can I complain?

last review dont know the pub very well as the "new" owners have been there 4 years.Michelle as manager is there 15 months.Sky sports is for the new clientele where this pub has moved forward, but it has kept the front cosy and tradational for the regular customers.Everyone is happy and relaxed and the food is really good, but you would know this if you were a regular.

Pity that the new owners see fit to blast the customers with Sky Sports. It's had multiple managers in recent years, and unfortunately I'll stay away until it reverts to a real village pub. The smoking bad will have improved the atmosphere and hopefully the recent refurb will have removed the old sticky wooden seats.

just reopened after a major refurb, but still a pub that does food rather than a restaurant, really friendly staff and a good atmosphere, with excellent local beers.

Nice, friendly little pub although I'm not a fan of dogs being in the bar so it loses points for that. Wouldn't eat there but nice for a quiet drink.

This pub is so cosy i love the quiet atmosphere, it also brings back alot of memories for me as my grandpa would drink here before he died so i go here to think of him and its like the staff know to leave me to think....truely beautiful traditional english pub...well done
