Looks like this has shut too!

Not bad. On a recent Friday night visit service was very slow due to amount of time taken to prepare cocktails and small number of staff who seemed to like chatting to friends. It was frustrating for us as we were waiting at the bar for our order of two beers and a wine but bar man when he did come was very charming. Good range of Mexican beers etc

A bit over priced but the food, service and drink are always fab.
You get what you pay for!

actually its quite a decent bar with excellent food and lovely staff but attracts the kind of fools who generally like to be seen drinking in the Oracle. God knows why.
Mordello beer is yummy and they do the best Mexican food in Reading. Nice sofas too.

Ordered the crab cakes, or were they just fish cakes? You try them and decide. The wine was grossly overpriced - something like five times the supermarket price. Paid 17.95 for fillet steak and chips - not good value for money. Nice atmosphere if you are under 40!

I bring my family here to eat everytime we come to Reading shopping on a Saturday / Sunday, and NEVER in over 20 visits have I been dissapointed in the food, drink or service which in my opinion and I have eaten in some top places, is excellent. So what if its pricey, if you dont like it MaccyD's down a bit on the left

good cocktails!

It's not too bad. I agree that the bar does get filled with posers very quickly. Cocktails are nice, but all is overpriced.
As for the food, this is the place to go if you have any food allergy at all. One of my friends has a nut allergy and nowhere else seems to be able to cater for him.
Our waiter in this restaurant went to great lengths to check the ingredients and ensure that there were no unfortunate incidents! Which is more than can be said for several other places along the riverside!

this place is crap. full of posers willing to pay silly money for bottled mexican beers which are always too warm. Pseudo classy cocktal list hoovers any remaining money out of your pockets before you head for an overpriced and unimaginative faux SW American meal where the food will be badly prepared, over cooked and poorly presented by an overattentive underworking tip hungry fool.
As you stumble out into the night much poorer only slighly less hungry and quite nauseous from the McCocktails consider this:
Please, eat somewhere else, the LSB is just nearby and is loads better, as for drinking, we need to do better in Reading if this is considered a good place for beers or cocktails.

The food is beyond words and the service is impeckable. Keep up the good work!!
|
Decent drinks and friendly service - what more could you ask for? Well, you could ask for there to be a little more room in which to enjoy said drink... but minor niggles aside, it's a good place to kick off an evening. Top tip: don't have the plain pina colada, try the fruit ones instead.

Good selection of bottled beers, if a little pricey. Really like sitting outside this place and watching people wander by. Stylish and friendly, it's a top bar!
|
Consistently excellent food, drink and service. Must have eaten out there at least 20 times and NEVER been dissapointed. Cocktails have got to be the best in Reading, well done all.

Food here is quite nice. Really like the music. Yummy cocktails and nice wines on selection. Had a few really good nights with the girls here. A bit of a sex and the city wannabe place, but nevertheless quite cool really. Recommentthe strawberries and cream virgin cocktail. delicious.
