Rough and ready and totally devoid of frills, but a great atmosphere at many of their nights. Been to several gigs and the Smiths disco and always enjoyed it. They have some quality punk bands playing. Not somewhere to take the Vicar's daughter on a first date, but it's a decent enough venue.

This is one of my fav places in the world, esp. on a Saturday- the indie night (smile) is outstanding. boddington's or double and whiskey/coke are highly recommended.
great staff, excellent djs (if you like indie, make sure you check out smile with andy woods)

Sadly, Smile has also declined in quality. Beer not very good, but there is a pool table.

I can see how this place could be quite good, but in my experience, it ain't. The Belle & Sebastian disco has declined in quality significantly (they've started playing chart tripe like OK GO and The Libertines). Downstairs is poorly lit, has little or no music and is cold. The beer is poor and I want to huddle up in my coat and go to sleep whenever I'm there. Poor pub, poor club - pity, it could be so much more.

Great meaty sandwiches.

Home to the Smiths and Morrissey disco which it now runs on the first friday of every month. Part of music history and the best possible night out in the world ever.
|
This place is mint, especially the Smiths nights. Friendly crowd and magic beer, but watch out for the slippy, slippy stairs.

smile on saturdays is good but a tad pretentious and not very rock n roll

Video games, pool, great music, brilliant live bands, friendy workers, good offers on beer and doubles, fun atmosphere- what more do you want?

sound system upstairs can often be a bit dodgy - but usually an interesting assortment of bands. not a great selection of beers - but when the Flowers is on, all is well with the world.

We do serve snakebite & black- but reserve the right not to when we're rushed off our little feet! We still have themed nights tho (e.g. smiths)& album launches...

The S&G have some cracking live band nights on, won't serve Snakebite and Blacks but will serve most other beers and cider cheap as well as real cheap doubles.

Used to play great music and sometimes have themed nights for certain popular bands - is it still there? Is it still the same?
