Alan is holding it at the moment & he is a top gezzer! but not for very much longer. This has the potential to be a real money spinner if a some money (ok a lot of money!) was spent on it. Lets hope whoever has bought it can crack it.

Disappointing. Pine been put in everywhere. No character. Loud 50 somethings at bar. Irritating, One real ale on tap (Adnam's Classic I think). No hello or goodbye from the landlord

Looks like an enormous pub from the outside, but is split into lots of smaller sections. The staff are friendly and the clientele on the friday afternoon I went in seemed a tad dubious. The outside space is large with a splendid view of the newly converted waitrose entrance as well as the overpowering smell of a local fishmongers cart. The area is completely tarmaced and the phrase could have done so much better comes to mind. I don't think I will be popping back in a hurry.

Have stayed here twice when visiting a freind and apart from no on suite rooms its good value for money and Dave and his wife (please forgive for not remembering the name) were very welcoming. If its a night stop over then I would defo recomend. Nice food as well as good beer, a perfect combination.

Friendly staff is the nicest thing I can say about this place.

Friendly service, good Adnams bitter, large seating area just off the front bar with chesterfield sofa, pool room to the rear with bar-service access, tables outside in flagstoned beer 'garden'. Mix of piped music was varietal & pretty good. Best of the three we entered in Saxmundham.
