A great village pub, serving superbly kept Adnams Southwold bitter. The food was piping hot and tasty - well certainly the Haddock I had was

The Royal Oak would be an excellent village pub except for one thing.
It shares Laxfield with the Low House.

Friendly and lively pub on my last visit (a Saturday early evening). Three real ales on offer and those our group tried were all in good condition.

closed again, supposed to re-open before may bank holiday but nothing happening yet

Now open, offering Wherry, Adnams and various lagers. Food good apparently. Landlord temporary, says rumour - well known local pub revivalist, famous for fish and chips (Fridays), owners hoping to get something on the books so the pub will sell. This is rumour, please note, but it is definitely open and the beer is good.

In March 2009, was closed and for sale. Hopefully, this is only temporary.

Paid a visit last night (a Wednesday) at about 10pm and it was closed. It didn't look as though it had closed down though - it just seemed to be closed for the night.

Something different in the heart of Adnams country, a good pint of Wherry and not an Adnams beer in sight. Food was excellent, good value for money, cant fault the place really. Well worth the trip from Bungay
