Had a pint with two friends here and it was an excellent pub. Nice table by the window and a very tasty pint of Lady Godiva.

6 Warwickshire beers were on during our short visit yesterday - Best Bitter, Lady Godiva, Golden Bear, Duck Soup, Castle Mild & Kingmaker. As a previous reviewer has said - none warranted a second pint. Nice location overlooking the market square, with a few other pubs nearby. The welcome was friendly and the interior is cosy.

Nice enough pub overlooking the market square. The pint of Church Yard Bob was pleasant enough. A kind of average real ale pub worth dropping in to but not somewhere to make a special detour to visit.

This is a great pub with a real problem. The atmosphere is cosy, it's wood clad, floor, ceilings and beams, no muzak and no machines. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. The problem is that it's a Warwickshire Beer Company tied house. When we visited they had on 5 WBC ales and a guest from the Shardlow Brewery. We tried each of the Warwickshire ales, except the Best, and couldn't face a second pint of any of them. They all appeared well kept and were clean and crisp but they all had a heavy woody flavour and an unpleasant sour tang as an aftertaste. The WBC brewer needs to taste some of his own ales. So if you want a great pub in Atherstone then this is it as long as you don't want to drink real ale.

A nice pub with a good choice of ales. Well worth a trip

This is undoubtedly a classic real ale venue with a very good choice of ales on tap. However, my pint of Lady Godiva was very cloudy and did not taste particularly nice. I was told they may have "knocked the barrel" - but is this any excuse?

Really nice atmosphere and good beer. Atherstone is a much improved little market town and this is one of a number of excellent pubs in and around the town. Free parking too !

Fantastic little place! Great atmosphere, friendly bar staff and a good selection of well-kept real ale (Warwickshire Brewing Company). One of my favourite pubs in the UK.

The only pub offering ale from Worchestershire Brewing Company. And that's all it needs !!!!!
