Had Sunday lunch here on 6/2/11 nice pub, nice beer, friendly staff, but food very over priced for what you get. Paid 9.75 each for one course, my wife had a pudding 5.00. Food okay but no better than most carverys that cost half the price!

Part of the same chain as, The Bulls Head Shenstone, The Tame Otter Tamworth The white Horse Curdworth, The Hedgehog Lichfield. I have had very bad service and meals at, The Tame Otter, The Green Man, and The white Horse. Thats why I looked up what they owned in my area.

We found this pub when we had been to the theme park, Sept 09. This is the perfect pub to wind down from an active day. Very relaxing in a very picturesque little village. There is good food and real ale at very reasonable prices. We would definately go there again.

I visited this pub on a Saturday evening, 11 July 2009. The pub was busy. The bar staff and waiting staff were attentive and courteous. There were three real ale taps, but the Everard Tiger had just gone off, so I tried the Pedigree and Kew Ales. Both were delicious! My wife and I ordered food, which was utterly delicious. The Seafood Pie was crammed with big chunks of fish and the Mediterranean Lamb Casserole had generous portions of Lamb and Chorizo. The Cheese Platter for one had enough for two, so we shared one.
The gardens looked great, but it was pouring with rain, so we sat inside.
To sum up - lovely beer, lovely food, very nice staff, nice building and a nice location. Highly recommended!

This used to be a great pub with an excellent reputation.Bar staff and waiting staff were really friendly. however, on our last visit there was only one person serving(who served acquintances first), the tills were playing up and hardly any of the tables had been cleared.Needs a kick up its whatever!c

Nice country pub which we have been to on a few occasions and really liked it BUT last time we went was New Years Day and food was dreadful, not just ours, other people were complaining also. they did change one dish that was inedible but they did'nt even discount the bill.
They need to improve the food side of the pub.

lack of attention to food seems a problem here. We called in mid-afternoon and ordered my wife a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel from the snacks menu. With only us to cook for, it came out as tunned tuna and melted cheese! Publican put it down to a mistake in the kitchen, but the other reviewer makes me wonder!! Agree though about the clean and welcoming pub

Very nice pub from outside, and clean and the loverly smell of a coal fire. Went for sunday lunch, good range of vegetarian options and tasted good. Sunday roast dinner was not as appetising. Smash potatoe and luke warm gravy and rest of dinner so obvioudly keep on a hot tray waiting for next customer. And finally the desert, my wife asked for the bannana split just with rasperry sauce. How hard is that you may ask. 20 minutes later (bear in mind it took only 10 minutes for main courses to come after ordering) an assistant brought out 2 bowls of ice cream. Not what we ordered, another 10 minutes later we asked a member of staff wheres the bannana split, she didnt know so we asked for our money back on it and left. Scored the Pub 8/10 but that was mainly due to the nice layout and cleanliness of pub and a good vegetarian option. Another pub next week.
