Bad reputation locally, iffy atmosphere. Police sniffer dogs tells you everything you need to know.

Not good, keep walking and find another drinking hole. Plenty of good bars and pubs in Basingstoke. Iffy doorstaff and an owner who seems unintrested in good customer service.
Might have a few more coustomers if the landlord was not such a miserable old git!
Not a bad place really, considering it's run by an Arsenal fan, Larrsens = Arsenals (sic). Funny thing is his stepson is a Liverpool supporter (not many arguments in that family then!!). As for the pub, no real ale but it's clean, spacious and friendly......sometimes!!
Not bad in evening but beware of no real ale.
This is a great pub, not only is it friendly, clean and tidy, But what a place to watch sports, not only Arsenal but all good football games / rugby & a little horse racing. It also has good music on a fri and saturday, nothing too heavy but good to bop about to and start off a good night out for ladies and gents. Massive outdoor heated smoking area and garden that I reckon you could fit 100 people in and with big games they put a massive screen out so you can smoke, enjoy the sunshine and watch the game!!! Quality!!!!
Ouch...don't the prices hurt tho.
Not a bad pub. Beer's good, although the atmosphere's a bit iffy. Recommended.
If your not into horse raceing or Arsenal football club forget it.

Great bar staff, great food ( now they have a new chef in ), normally clean and tidy, also the best pint of courage ive ever had. This place could be a great live venue for bands, but the atmosphere of a friday or saturday is great any way. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

Used to have a good atmoshere, on girly nights we always started here, but its gone a bit downhill. staff have all got a face like thunder - you dont wanna see that on a friday night!! (apart from adam) what every happened to Nicky, Claire and the lovely leah - Bring them back and the place might get a bit busier!!!
No where near as good as it was when the feathers. Almost a bit poncy now!!!!! The toilets didn't stink but the music needs vast improvement
Whats a mitchamite? I use to like this pub when it was the Feathers, why change a good name, but then again a pub isnt just a name, its a community. Still enjoy popping in for the odd pint
Warm atmosphere here, albeit a bit festive for August. Naturally a lack of real ale as this is a bar rather than a pub, but you can't have it all.

I dj at this bar on a staurday night and i strongly advise going there. (of course) evry week more and more people go there. Funky house music on a friday and saturday and soul on sundays...
Give it a try you might like it.
p.s The toilets don't stink anymore.
:)

none of your visitors appear to have visited recently-its vastly improved. I pop in regularly-never seen a fight. I like it.

Went there 8/4/04, the lager was gassed and the chap behind the bar was a fool. Oh and the toilets stink.
Since this pub was the first one we got to having got off the train, and it was raining, and they've got Sky Sports, we decided to pop in for a couple of swift ones on a Saturday afternoon, and keep one eye on the football. One thing I noticed was it was full of mitchamites !

If it's anything like it was when it was the Feathers I would not recommend it to anyone. The place was a dump with the worst door staff ever. I was barred because a complete stranger who was standing about 4 feet away from me snapped a light fitting off the wall. That's fair isn't it? Might have changed now but I wouldn't bother.
This pub has new management and a new name. Laarsens.... which appparently is made from an anagram of Arsenal, who the Landlord supports.
Good luck mate.......

This pub is pretty rough! Not particularly clean or pleasant. You're almost certain to witness a couple of punch ups on a Friday or Saturday night. Given the large number of much nicer pubs just up the road - there's not really any reason for any one to go there!
