Our group were enjoying a family Sunday meal and the manager asked the couple I was with to feed their baby in the toilet! SERIOUSLY!!! The only people in there was us, another pregnant couple (who also waded into the argument) and a couple of old ladies who'd see it all before. Discreet breastfeeding is not offensive. The managers attitude was.

If you want to hold a conversation, don't go on a Monday evening because you'll have to shout above the ridiculously high volume of the PA system used for the quiz.

A chain pub with a decent weekend atmosphere. Fairly ordinary place, not uch to write home about, but better than the nearby Old House at Home which is awful.

Nice real ales on whenever I've been here. A bearable pub - it reeks of fakeness however. It also has a meat market theme at weekends.

What a pity.... from one of the last remaining coaching inn type with ALL the old world charms to a usual bland food/bland draught beers/bland atmosphere. Pity/Pity/Pity. OK for a drink on the way home (out of Birmingham) otherwise carry on elsewhere.

not bad if you want to purchase a line or two from local drug dealers average pub poor standards

Not a bad effort for an Ember Inns establishment. Little bits of the old pub building poke through but are made to look somehow fake by the modern decor and furniture which is a shame as I bet it looked smashing once upon a time. The fire is nice on a chilly day and this is the kind of pub that you could easily lose a whole afternoon/evening in as it has a very relaxing and cosy feel to it. Good range of beers including some nice guest ales unfamiliar to a Londoner like me. Price is approachable and barstaff are quick and friendly even if they need a little help locating their own products. Food is very pleasant in terms of options and quality although it could definitely be cheaper in this respect and locals are at least tolerant of outsiders if not particularly welcoming. You could definitely do worse for a lazy Sunday.
