We have been going to the Old Vic regularly for the last two years. The 2 for 1 offer was great. Always good food and good service. NOT ANY MORE!! Visited Thursday 18th October. 2 for 1 no longer available. Everything on the menu is full price, except 4 separate meals which are priced at 2 for 9.95. We were told these are smaller portions than the full price meals. Two of our meals comprising of pie of the day were very small portions and cold veg and were off the full price menu.. Our total bill for four meals and four sweets, plus four soft drinks was over 80 !! Pub was nearly empty but service was very slow. Will not be going there again. Very sad because used to be so good. DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY MORE.

I recently visited this pub for a family meal i recieved great service from all staff and felt very welcome. The drinks price is average and the meal deal 2 for 1 is great. I will be returning to the Olde Victoria again.

recently went to this pub on thursday evening for the first time its a very traditional pub with a beer garden decking outside.we were welcomed pleasently by the bar staff who told us about the beers and wines that they had on offer. with london pride, abbot and greene king ipa plus a guest ale we were then assisted to a table by one of the waitresses. we were told that the menu is 2 for 1 so which made it even better. we ordered our meal and within 15 minutes it had been brought to us. the food was lovely and quick which is not often come across. we will definatly be returning to the pub very soon for their sunday carvery of 3 different meats hmmmm

In here last Saturday and very disapointed.
The staff just stood around while dirty tables needed cleaning.
One was this side talking to some punters.
When one did come out all she did was clean two table but not the one I was sitting at. No compertision with the Waggon and Horses closed.
The only other pub I could find was the Dukes Arms which has no real ale.
There are 10 hand pulls of which 4 were not in use.
2 were for Greene King IPA and 2 for Abbott (3.35 a pint and fair)
Other two are for Fullers London Pride.

love this pub. My local since August 2011 and I have eaten there about 20 times - the carvery on a Sunday is awesome and the 2 for 1 meal offers are brilliant. Seafood medley, Steak Pie and Beef wellington are my personal favourites but there is shedloads to choose from. Great ales, London Pride and guest ales etc.

Atmosphere is nice, barstaff friendly and service efficient. This is a proper boozer and the best in the area by far.

we visited the olde victoria last weekend for a family meal to celebrate a birthday, the staff made us feel very welcome and the food and drink were reasonably priced. even though the pub was extremely busy we didnt have to wait long.

After years of travelling 16 or so miles for a decent Carvery i was delighted when i came accross this pub.
I visited on Sunday afternoon, it is a lovely pub with a good friendly atmosphere.
There were ample staff to assist whenever needed, they were all helpful & polite. The carvery was good, 3 choices of meat and a great selection of vegetables that were fresh even though we arrived later in the afternoon. ( a problem we had with the pub we used to travel to)
i will definately be returning & am glad to have found a nice carvery so close to home.

The olde victoria is under new management, they are still offering 241 on all the main meals Monday to Saturday along with a carvery on Sundays. The outside area has been all done up with a new decking area outside the front along with new furniture

I ordered a meal there last week, and it came with new potatoes. The majority of the potatoes were rotten and inedible. Nobody came to ask how the food was during the meal, so when my plate was collected (and we still weren't asked if the meal had been satisfactory!) I told the waitress I was not happy with the potatoes. She said she would talk to another member of staff, presumably the manager and get back to me.
Next thing, desserts were dished out and nobody came back to me regarding my meal, I was offered no explanation or apology at all. It may be a small thing, but I paid for food which was sub-standard, not at all what I expected.
Overall, VERY disappointing!!!

Visited last night - unfortunately the whole party of 6 felt food was poor even though 2 for 1 offer and we were not offered dessert or coffee after mains cleared.

Visited pub on Sept 8th 2007.
Good beers, IPS, Abbot Ale, Speckled Hen @ Broadside Good menu.Food very good and plentiful, surroundings somewhat dated, went in years ago and it did not appear to have changed!
Little disappointed with the waitresses, they need to learn to smile more!!
Unfortunately the bill when it arrived was incorrect by approx 3.50 (too much!)However this was corrected without an apology!
Despite the above would still go there again sometime.

Great pub, which has a large restaurant attached serving excellent food. The Sunday carvery is particularly worth a visit, but the menu is good at all times. The beer is good and the staff friendly. Well worth a visit - certainly a better example of a place to eat in this area.
