1.7 out of ten is a bit low. I give it 6. Not the place to go for a quiet pint, but seems like a good place to go if you are on a bender. Its the sort of venue I'd expect to see someone like Andy Carroll sitting at the bar downing shots and drinking Stella until he falls of his bar stool. It is quite an entertaining place. Beer is good if you like standard lager. Nothing on the Ale front except for Bass, but I do not class that as Ale.

This is the sort of pub I'd like to convert my boss Tim to. Despite it being on Wood Street there's actually a good balance of people in there. The barmaids are less manly than those in tThe Willianmsons.

The layout of this place is really poor - compounded when busy. I guess it is trying to be club/bar rather than pub/bar. But there is something about it that just doesn't work. Overpriced in all departments, this place really is best avoided. There are so many better places.
When you escape to the bogs for brief respite, you'll find Lee Evans or Peter Kay piping through the speakers. Probably it's only redeeming feature.

Oh yes, it is now known as 'The Livery'. As opposed to 'The Deadery'.....one would assume.

Has now rebranded to some equally forgettable name. I have been in here a number of times for 'Corporate entertaining'. Corporate, it is. Entertaining, it ain't. Risable service.
Would probably have much more vitiolic bile to spew forth on this pages had I ever paid for a drink in here.

When I used to work by here three years ago I used to go (clueless I know) and had two shockers -
1. My mate Clone smacked me for cussing his girlfriend
2. Another time (with Clone in tow again) I pulled a girl we all thought was OK, when I subsequently met up with her about a fortnight later she was on crutches for like six months, problem was I had to stay at hers down in the sticks because the last train back to london went really early. worst night ever
I hate this place. Rubbish and soul less and full of fools.

out of all the pubs in the area i work in this is the last place i would go. Expensive rubbish poor service. they seem to keep trying and keep getting it wrong

Rubbish. Bizarrely it's constantly busy (I guess no one ever lost money by underestimating the stupidity of the public), the music is crap at earsplitting volume, the drinks are hugely overpriced and taste much as I would imagine warm piss would. If there is anything lower in the food chain than an All Bar One then this is it.

I cannot tell you how much I loathe this place. I was there last night and the place was packed, it took fifteen minutes (no exaggeration) to get a single bottle of beer, the Guinness was poured far too quickly (you should wait a bit longer than ten seconds between pouring halves), the DJ on the dancefloor was awful (n.b. if you play a Madness track, choose 'One Step Beyond' or 'Baggy Trousers', not 'Our House') and the beer itself is far too expensive for the quality, the service and the whole experience. It seems as if they are only interested in taking your money and not bothering if you have a decent time with it. The only redeeming feature is that they don't have a guy in the gents to wash your hands and take more money, but if anyone from One of 2 reads this they'll probably incorporate it soon. Not that it bothers me, I won't be rushing back in a hurry. The embarrassing thing is I've been here before, was willing to give it a second chance but no, it was as awful as I remembered it the first time. In future I'll go somewhere I can go to the bar and get served in the same song. Other people in my party did seem to enjoy it slightly so I'll give it 3/10
