My uncle was the landlord of this pub in the 70s and early 80s, Alan Wright. I worked there as a kid on a saturday morning for a few years. I have fond memories of this pub. The Brixton riots made my family move away. All good things come to a end

Dumpy and scruffy were its charms and it was a main attraction after hours, particularly on the weekends, and hosted a diverse crowd. Sadly it has passed into history and is now a dime a dozen corner shop.

Used to be a top pub. Now an overpriced food and wine. Doubly annoying since I've just moved in round the corner.

Small - dirty - seedy - but one of my favourite pubs in the area. Not one to impress the new girlfriends mother - or the new girlfriend for that matter.Pool table good, beer OK, relaxed closing times.

Worked here once upon a time. Is Donald still the landlord there? If so, good, he was fantastic.
The pub is very cozy indeed and at times, very friendly. I've seen a few fights break out though, but that's the same with any pub. Don't know what the current staff are like but I plan to nip down there for a pint or six in the near future...
The old pool team rocked. I was on it of course :)

Best pub in Brixton/Herne Hill and the best kept secret. One for the locals. Ask the landlord what it's like to face Michael Holding on a cricket pitch.will Ok, some of the wiring may seem outdated, but that's part of its charm.
