S'oak, Selly Oakback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Bath Ales beer on pump at the moment, a comfortable pub. One of two real ale-selling pubs practically next to each other on what seems to have been the Market Place (signage opposite indicates that), which may explain the proximity of the Selly Oak (SOAK) and Goose at the OVT a.k.a. Old Varsity Tavern.

Ale on tap, good prices, plenty of TVs to watch the football on, decent food. What could go wrong? Well, it's almost always got a sports team from the University of Birmingham in there, and they always shout and chant so loudly you can't hear yourself think. Go earlier in the evening, have a game of pool, watch the footy, have a decently priced pint of real ale, then leave when the women's hockey team turns up and you'll have a good time.

unlike the last post this pub was totally wedged today, prob due some blokes kickin a ball about on the tv,only just managed to get a seat.its a Greene king pub so wasnt expecting much but no handpumps at all was a disappointment! Opted for Guinness that then turned out to be off so rather than drink ruddles smooth(1.59)i opted for a pint of carlsberg(1.99)the food was dirt cheap too,so yeah ok for a quick visit but not for real ale 6/10

Unimpressive and fairly quiet, even on a recent Saturday night.

Hi all...went to the Soak on Sunday for the first time! Nice to see they have three pool tables and could get a game. My mate was happy coz he could watch the sport on the numerous screens available. Had some food, not a bad price aswell, nice and snacky stuff available.Nice chill out spot...I'll be back througout term time thats for sure..:O)

I first visited this place in 2003. And it does not seem to have changed, chaviest pub in Selly Oak, always a few street corner asbo boys find there way in here...I only pay early eve visits to play pool etc when Pub Crawling the area, Friday nights used to be cool with decent DJs but last time I wet on a fri was 2004. Worth a try as this place is deffo for sum ppl, just not for others.

A pub which in its heyday offered some great offers on drinks which made this a great place to spend an evening in. Unfortunately these offers have all been stopped now and high prices have been introduced so you will need to bring your credit card with you to have a good time here now. Still offers the same trendy, funky atmosphere as always but i dont like the new orange colour scheme on the outside. This pub is now more suitable for having a drink or two in before going to a club.

another pub infested with chavs looking for a good ruck avoid!

Was a great pub when first opened, but its now the haunt of the local chavs, cheaper still than the G.B, which is a bonus
