Family pub serving both meals and drinks in a residential area of Birmingham. 3 real ales were on - M & B Brew XI, Ringwood Reinbeer & Marstons Pedigree. There was a wide mix of customers. Service was quick. Looks as if it offers a good range of cheap food with plenty of offers. Not too much to recommend it for other than that though.

Popped in for a quick after work slurp and noticed how clean the place was. Smattering of punters seemingly enjoying the food (no kitchen fire while I was there!) Noticed Mondays are cheap as chips night if you like lager. One guest real ale on at 1.99 a pint, so good that I had 2 (nothing to do with the price.....) and according to my cider expert mate, the Strongbow was the best he`d tasted in recent years. Decent pub.

Quite a few punters in on a Monday afternoon/evening, Marston's Pedigree was okay - very helpfull bar staff

beer ok. Service resonable but DON'T eat there! Food quality poor-sirloin steak supposed to be rare was overcooked. It was full of gristle, was stringy & very fatty had to leave 3/4 of it. Complined to manager who refunded my money! During meal the pub filled with smoke from the kitchen noone knew what to do-1 staff member actually said that he'd never heard the smoke alarm siren before! No explainations given to diners & very worryingly we were not evacuated!!! Nor was there any public apology. A crap experience in total- WILL NEVER return to the Covered Wagon.

Nothing bungalow pub about this one, no potholes in the carpark, burnt out vehicles, boarded up windows or gangs of feral yoofs vandalising the bus stop. Had a refurb a while back but hasn`t really changed the stamp of the place. Pretty middle class with the odd couple of builders (Extensions a go go!) in it, very sedate and untroubled. Not a pub to be worried about going into for a pint and a nosh.

Looks like a bungalow pub that's had a facelift

Typical ember inn, which isn't a bad thing. Very decent pies, quiet but generally a nice atmosphere and close enough to Moseley and Kings Heath without getting too rammed.

Recently refurbed, and it needed it. Looks great and having goine none smoking the old smell is replaced by smell of good pub grub. Really worth a try now.....
