A sad state compared to what it used to be, just the policemen and lawyers use it now. 3/10

I agree with vamoosh entirely, i couldnt believe my eyes when i popped in after finding out it was open again, utterly awful, and more expensive than most of the town centre!

since re opening this classic pub and re naming it the jekil and hyde it is indeed hidious! sky high prices, poor food and an even worse choice in interior/ exterior decor ! After being a regular user for over 25 years i have never seen the place so empty ! Dont just take my word for it..... but im voting with my feet along with all the other regulars,...... were going into hyde..ing !

I've been drinking in The Queens (or the QH as some might call it) for over 20 years now. I love the fact that it has a great mix of clientele including Solicitors, journalists, buiders, sales people nad a whole host of other characters. If you find time to eat, the food is well prepared, prompt, delicious and very reasonably priced ! I have some fond memories and aim to have many, many more. Karaoke nights, Disco's, Quizzes and a FREE golf machine make for some terrific banter. I thoroughly recommend a visit soon. The staff and management have a great humour.

What a great little pub this is. Situated right in the heart of the City Centre it offers great value lunchtime food , has a function Room available and regular activities include a Disco every other Friday and a Karaoke / Disco on the Fridays in between.
Also a regular monthly Quiz / Live Music night once a month around the last Thursday of the month with plenty of money on offer to the Winning Team and also a rollover Raffle Question Prize.
A great many regulars use this pub and this provides a superb atmosphere.
A really warm welcome from the staff ensures visitors will return again and again.

Having used this pub for many a year in my drunken haze of youth, I ventured into this hostelry to find that nothing had changed in it's folk 'n' fittings but as for the music, stay clear, a whole cd montage of the dire UB40 belted out by a bespectacled youth club DJ. Beer wasn't all I remembered but then again, the surrounding music would of soured even the heartiest brews.
