Visited this place for first time in ages, on a recommendation, having been told it had had a makeover. On the plus side, the plastic glasses have been replaced with glass glasses, so must be a lot safer. This may be due to pricing chavs out of the place, £3.60 for poorly poured sour, tasting Guinness, should do the trick,. Decor wise, the ony noticeable change is that the stage has been replaced by an oversized dj booth (has Barry been poached from down the road?). There are also a load of church hall style foldaway tables, presumably stowed away when the disco starts. A pub for rich people with hearing difficulties, no taste buds nor sense of smell.

Good for watching sport if you're old and good to be seen if you're young. All expensive keg beers but standard Walkabout offering - you could be in any of them

Been here a few times now and its a simple place so Ill keep the review simple. Firstly drinks, all very over priced in my opinion for what you get. Had some offers though which kind of made up for it, stay clear of the draught stuff put simply my Guinness had no head, need I say more. Bottles were nice and cold so aim for them when you visit. Service was ok, they never seem under staffed and you shouldnt be waiting to long but as usual if you have breasts you'll get served quicker. Toilets are as good as you can expect on a Saturday night, again enough said. Plenty of space and seating, they have a balcony which over looks the canal and a "under ground" bit which basically mirrors the ground floor but its only ever open on really heavy nights, no big loss really. But when it is open this place literally doubles in size and its big as it is. Music is usually good and encourages people to get up and dance which is good for the atmosphere. The atmosphere generally is very good I personally havent seen a fight in here but I could just be lucky. Not a bad place for Broad Street, defiantly worth a visit.

I liked this bar but our visit was somewhat ruined by the VERY rude barmaid who poured the wrong drink and didnt want to change it and subsequently threw my change at me - she made me want to take my custom elsewhere :-(

Meets a need for some, but total lack of cask beer and Plastic glasses mean it's not for others.

Typical Walkabout pub which isn't necessarily a bad thing. As usual it has a good range of bottled beers which are always nicely chilled, not much choice in the draft department but a good array of spirits. Barstaff are generally friendly and range between locals with an atipodean attitude and the genuine article. TVs for sport and music videos, nice variety of background music and occasional live bands help with the entertainment factor. Clean, simplistic design which maximises available standing room, but if you can get one of the comfortable seats and a table the food is well worthy of investigation. Some unusual meats(Kangaroo, Springbok, etc.) which are very tasty or more standard steaks, burgers and chicken for the less culinary adventurous. Prices are pretty good and whilst you might not want to spend the entire evening here, dropping by for a few hours for a bite to eat and some nice beers is always an option worthy of consideration.

Floorboards everywhere,(easily cleaned i suspect),not for the faint hearted of a weekend, but during the week or lunchtime sats & Suns there is no reason why not giving it a chance for an hour or so.
