One of the better pubs on Broadway with knowledgeable staff and a decent lay-out inside. Very busy on matchdays.

i stopped going in here as the landlord has quite an obnoxious attitude to newcomers
Having got over my initial shock of the refit a few years back, I have to say that this is still the best pub in Stratford.
No atmosphere and service is bad, I mean how long should you have to wait for a drink ?
Definately the best pub in Stratford.
I don't know what this place was like before the rather obvious and clumsy refurbishment, but I imagine it had rather more character than the fairly bare interior has now. Having said that, there is nothing really wrong with the place and there are certainly many far worse establishments nearby. The Bombardier clip was turned around, leaving a somewhat uninspring choice between the Deuchars and Greene King IPAs (but the latter was at least in decent shape).

Do us a favour Island Laddie please? Opine as much as you like on the pubs, that's what BITE's all about after all. But give it a rest with the Stratford bashing eh? If you hate it so much why drink there?
The Black Bull's alright. Not as good as The Eddie but cheaper for sure. And yes indeed the new frontage is a lot more inviting than the one in the picture.

This is the best pub in Stratford I'd say - reasonably priced, fairly normal clienetele, and it now looks a lot better than the photo would suggest due to the recent make over.
Its a good place to watch the football, far better than Yates across the road which is always full of loud thick idiots whenever a match is on.

Like this pub second to King Eddies down the road. Clean, and friendly atmosphere whihc is a rarity in the godforesaken hell hole they call Stratford.
Since the refit, the atmosphere has gone, the prices have gone up and you have to wait for ages to get served.
A crying shame.
Went before Leeds v Orient, not bad for a modern refit BUT the manager needs to learn how to pull a pint!! No food on a Saturday lunch, why?
Just had a total refit, with the old regulars sat bewildered amid the stripped pine and white walls. Now has all the atmosphere of a mobile phone shop.
Unpretentious sums it up in the best way possible.
Love this pub. I work nearby and have to say that this is probably the best pub in Stratford. Cheap, unpretentious food during the day (and very reasonably priced too!) and a good atmosphere in the evening. The Guinness is good too.
Th food in this place is great. Top marks to the chef. I would recommend the grub here to anyone !
Pub is doing ok for it self, small changes made not a lot, staff are ok, friendly enough, lights are always on during daytime since does not bring in much light, could be brighter pub but overall ok for relaxing or meeting with mates
Warm friendly large pub with no trouble or idiots. Not a fancy wine bar and drinks don't cost u a mortgage.
okish pub, could do better, staff alright
Cheap, cheerful, unpretentious, roomy. It doesn't really look like much, but who cares? When the kitchen's closed, they're happy for you to bring in a takeaway from the kebab shop next door.
