This used to be (a slightly intimidating) proper east end boozer frequented only by locals and selling bad beers, but since under new management this now seems to be a little Dalston gem. Without doing it up in any sort of drastic way, the new owners have put a new life into the place by making very simple changes - but changes which have completely transformed the atmosphere of the pub. Now with real ales, good beers and wine, free wi-fi, live music nights from various folk/ country/bluegrass/ rumba/bosa artists, plus pub quizzes, games nights, and all sorts of other unusual events, along with great food always on offer, this pub is fast becoming a Dalston favourite.

Went in last weekend for All-Day Breakfast. It was FANTASTIC! We even brought our friends back later.
Great brekkie and best Bloody Mary I've ever had. Definitely worth a try.... lovely to have a the option of 'Hair of the Dog' if you want it.
Evenings are great too - often have Live Music and other events.
The new management are making good changes and are open to suggestions.

Under new management so I am informed. Went in for a couple after Leyton Orient game. TV's gone - now selling range of top notch lagers Czech Lagers and Leffe - in the real ale department there is one handpull and it had on Nightwatchman from East London Brewing Co @ 4.5% - it was top notch condition and it was a shame we had to leave for inferior beer elsewhere.

No beer, Hackney boozer. Why people drink in these places, I don't know.

Simple straightforward local pub, popular with the local football team who frequent it after matches during the season. Shows live football on Sky, rarely packed during matches though. Real ale selection poor.
