Now boarded up, was a pretty bleak place

This once grand pub is deteriorating quickly and is unlikely to survive once West Ham move to the Olympic Stadium in 3 years time. Grimy walls, blocked toilets, and broken windows make this such a dive you are almost obliged to visit it just for the experience. To its credit however it is a Matchday pub so is well staffed when the hordes of West Ham fans descend on the place before a match down the road at Upton Park.

This pub is an extremely basic 2 bar pub that clearly does the majority of its business on matchdays. Apart from two gaudy chandeliers and some large windows overlooking the street, the only point of note was the varied collection of wires hanging from the walls. They looked like an electrician's dream. Loud music was playing. The carpets were very worn. On arrival, as stated by Cockney Hammer, there was a group of people outside drinking lager from cans. Inside, there were no real ales, but Jagerbombs were advertised at 4 for 10. Midway between the Boleyn Ground and East Ham tube. But I sincerely doubt I would ever be tempted back!

Commonly known as the Earl of Pavement now as most people stand outside here on match days and buy beer from the offie rather than inside. Not the nicest of places, the bogs are usually piss ravaged.

nice looking pub, i think its only still there because of the football trade, was in there on a friday and the only customers where 5 wannabe gangsta asian lads chatting about 'repping e6'. shame

Pricey pub, as a teetotaller I can't comment on beer pricing, but a J2O at this pub cost 2. In any other pub it's usually about 1.50. Two pool tables, one full size, one not (includes beer stains for your delectation). Bar staff usually consists of one on Mondays! Interior leaves a lot to be desired, looks like the last time it saw paint was when a STOP marking was written on the road outside.

OK for a post-match pint from Upton Park, but little else. Guinness usually beer of choice.
