Forgot to add - £1.35 for a half - not bad at all.

I was drawn in to this pub by the "proper old pub" smell that teased me as I walked past. It was a hot day and I noticed it had a beer garden, so was a no brainer really - it had to be done.
I think there were 4 ales on - 2 on each side of the bar. I had a half of Pennine Way Jubilee by Pennine Brewing Co. That was OK, but no more than OK. Have had one of their ales before and found that a bit odd too, so perhaps something I should bear in mind for the future. I stayed for a second half, this time Anglers Revenge by Wold Top. That was better.
The pub has a 2 room arrangement with island bar, plus of course the beer garden. It did feel a bit of a locals' place but I was not made to feel unwelcome at all. I would consider a re-visit.

A Tuesday lunchtime visit to tick off my remaining pub in Bridlington that appears in the 2015 GBG.
From the front and the bar area the pub is very much a 2 room locals pub, but once you enter it's clear money has been spent to do it up but by keeping it traditional. There's a small semi circular bar with 4 ales on the hand pump's, 3 locales with the 4th being from Camerons in Hartlepool. I went for Wold Top Anglers' Reward @ 4.0%, they also have Sam Smiths Dark Mild on keg.
No more than half a dozen punters in with the barmaid chatting to all.
We took our beers and retired to the very welcoming garden, with smoking patio and large grassed area to the rear. As the sun came out the patio becomes a sun trap, lovely.
Music playing at an acceptable level inside.
We then returned the same evening for the local folk club’s night in the annex room at the back of the pub before spending another 90 minutes or so in the pub, it’s that good I made 2 visit in one day!
Cracking pub that I'm very pleased to have visited and ticked.

Great pub, me and my other half always find a local real ale pub where ever we go, having managed a real ale pub our selves we like to see how other people do it. The Telegraph is a great pub lots of charm, good out door space, nice real ales.

Very pleasant locals pub with interesting beer range, though the Wold Top was only OK. My sort of pub though.

Wow!! What a transformation, this place used to be a two room basic boozer but now it is a wonderful open plan pub, whose restoration is both sympathetic to its heritage but also has given it a feel of brand new pub, with a very nice beer garden. They had Wold top anglers retreat, copper dragon heritage & black gold as well as steam box on today and at 2.60 a pint, all where gratefully received, Please visit if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed

Had a nice pint of beers from one of the local brewaries (cannot remember its name). Busy and atmospheric but overall average (but above average for Bridlington)
