I don't believe it! Another of my "Golden Hinde II" refit regulars gone. Our chippy used to play a mean jazz piano in here after a long day re-building the fighting tops.This and the Minerva were favourites with the "Galleon Squad" as we were known. (Spring '85.)

Dead, deceased, gone to the great brewery in the sky. Unlike the nearby Minerva, I don't hold out much hope of it ever reopening.
A great loss.

Boarded up - another disappointment in the Maraina area

Second GBG-listed pub in succession on my crawl last Saturday (28/01/06) to have no beer. Again, very friendly staff at the bar but the pub was empty, and I had to leave without having a drink. This was a shame as the pub interior is very welcoming.

I'd rate this pub 8/10
Landlord {Dean} is very welcoming & quite a character.
Bar staff excellent.
Atmosphere brilliant.
Food is genuinely 'home made', all fresh NOT frozen.
True the beer choice is limited but the guest beers do change regularly.
Theme nights are always good fun.
Visit soon, you won't be disappointed.
