The number 12 bus will drop you off outside The Portelet Inn where they cater for everyone! Lounge bar; great outdoor seating areas with views over the bay; dining room and extensive kid's play area. Food ranges from snacks to full meals (we had a very acceptable beef and horseradish baguette) to go with the Betty Stoggs (or Ringwood Best) Bitter Lovely old farmhouse style of builoding with creeping ivy and loads of hanging baskets. Well worth a visit. Large car park for guests and some good walks from the pub (including down to the little Portelet beach)

Really enjoyed our couple of visits to this pub, Feb 2011. Lovely leather sofas to snuggle up by the fire and lots of character. We didn't eat but the food looked great and the place was obviously very family friendly. Good outdoor space for the summer and a cracking location for views & walks. A great little find!

Absolutely love it here! Have many fond memories - dining here is a must when on the Island of Jersey - great location, fab views, nice food - hope to return again someday & wish your establishment the best for the future.

Visited this pub 2nd of October with my wife and her mother, pouring with rain and very windy. Great to see a log fire in the bar, had a pint of draught bass (first class) and we sat at a table near the fire looking at the menu. After a while a young chap politely asked us if we were ready to order any food or did we want him to return later, which we asked him to. It was really great and when the food arrived we couldn't fault it. Then - - - - wailing from the other end of the bar, then children running around the bar, parents oblivious to the screams - - - then more families with children arrived with the associated playground noise. We then realised we were in a "Family Friendly" pub, something we like to avoid at all costs, as family usually means aggitated children who can't sit still. I know I sound a grouch, but I don't want to eat and drink in a playground, I believe pubs are for adults and we later discovered the upstairs was for adults but as my mother in law can't get up the stairs it had little bearing. So be warned .

In my opinion, both colinwood and ericonabike have some valid points. The location and exterior, with plenty of parking and access to the coastal paths, are outstanding, with many places to sit and relax. The interior DOES rather resemble all those big-chain pubs but actually is better, more authentic and more individual than that. Courage Directors and Bass on hand-pump accompanied the keg ales for my visit. Can't speak about the food but there was some variety available. Better than average for Jersey and deserves some encouragement for the more positive aspects

Sorry - another critical review from me of a Jersey pub. The location was stunning, as was the exterior - old stone pub overlooking a bay at the end of a winding road - what's not to like? But it had the atmosphere of a Hungry Horse, or some other anonymous chain pub. I was expecting something like the Square and Compass at Worth Matravers, or the Bankes Arms at Studland - similar locations in England but vastly superior to this place. Tired range of keg beers. Vast 'family pub' menu which I didn't try. Such a shame - could be so much better.

Great pub and close to the Portelet Hotel. During our second visit a guy was cleaning the tables outside (he had an eyebrow ring) and had the cutest smile and body :o)

Kept very clean and tidy, reasonable prices and nice food. Oh, and stunning views of the Portelet bay.

Lovely Pub, with great Views. Visit this pub every time I come to Jersey, although a bit off the beaten track, but on a bus Route

One of the friendliest pubs in the channel islands and a great location too. Traditional features and good food, one of the best out of town 'country' style pubs around - has a seperate section/play area for families if you are into that sort of thing.

Splendid bars comfy atmosphere. The beer is well kept and the outside tables are an ideal place to sit and enjoy it . Meals are very good and reasonably priced. Handy to stop at on the way back to the airport.
