Moulin Wheel Ale was the only one on handpull and it was drinkable enough. There bar takes a definite second place to the restaurant area as it never had a member of staff dedicated to it - someone always had to come from somewhere else to serve.
bar has wooden waterwheel feature built into it. Also gave the Liberation keg pale a try which was okay. Not many people about though suppose not many expected the warmest October day on record. Number 9 bus to Greve de Lecq - worth the trip out for the beach and walks alone.

The house beer is Liberation "Moulin Wheel Ale" (play on words!!) It's OK but they do have a guest beer as well. We always go here when in Greve and it is a loveley spot on a warm day with a cool beer and just away from the main touristy bits!

A genuinely lovely pub, without the upmarket gastro pretentions you'd see at an equivalent part of the English coast, and I can only assume it was quiet because the coach trips go to the modern cafe near the bus stop. The house beer from Liberation was OK, and this was another stop after a fantastic walk from St Ouen.

I don't know if their "house beer" ever materialised but when we went this time they had Belhaven Golden Bay; Morland Original Bitter and Marstons Diamond Pedigree on tap. The service was much better this time and our drinks were brught out to us in the garden/patio type area at the front. They have a snack food counter outside and a restaurant indoors. Kids play area/the waterwheel feature and the pub is handy for the bus stop and the beach. We always go here when in Greve but sometimes I think it justs lacks a bit of "magic"?!

After trying the Star at St Peter with its loud music and Chinese takeaways and the Farmer's Inn at St Ouen (my favourite pub on Saturday - I'll ask for it to be added), we wound up at the extremely quiet Moulin de Lecq. Just one other couple were present and the atmosphere was dead. Although the staff did seem to be trying to strike a party in the kitchen. Greene King Old Speckled Hen, Wychwood Hobgoblin & Theakston Best were the beers. Westons Old Rosie was the cider. The large waterwheel behind the bar is an interesting feature, whilst a huge fireplace takes centre stage in the seating area. The pub is in a fairly remote part of the island. But is probably just about worth a try.

I would agree about the service (or lack of politeness and interest). The building and location are excellent but there is a feeling that the staff are doing you a favour by being there and it's all a bit of a drag serving you. Two beers on when we last visited (Ruddles County and Old Speckled Hen (both from Greene King) - although they did advertise that they were about to get their own beer "Moulin Rouge" next week (June 2011)
However, considering that they advertise themselves as a "genuine freehouse" we were disappointed with the selection of cask ales. Food is sold from a hut in the forecourt and there are kids facilities on site.
The pub is just a very short walk from the beach and harbour and the bus stop and the village is well worth a visit - although beware - it gets packed on summer weekends.

Very nice setting, strange bar, usual Liberation, indifferent service and while looking at a menu a waiter said with pleasure "no good looking at that, foods off today". Guess what, so were we.

Lovely old mill building dating back to 12th century. 2 decent real ales and a nice outdoor seating area on tiered terraces.

Pleasant location (although not overlooking the sea) with a small selection of well kept cask ales.
Food decent too, although on my visit on a very quiet day the staff seemed more interested in using their own laptops and watching the TV than attending to customers promptly.

Really nice setting and with space to sit outside and comtemplate nature, as well as quite a pleasant converted mill building. The beers are well-kept, though rather pedestrian in terms of choice. Fine on all counts and certainly well above average for an island where the pubs are often disappointing

Visited last weekend in September, fabulous weather and views. Beer quality was pretty good - only Bass on though - food was excellent. Couldn't really comment on the inside of the pub, the weather was much too good to sit inside. Staff were exceptional, they managed to do sandwiches, chips, etc. for 15 in good time and with a smile!

Excellent country pub situated in the north of the island. It is a converted water mill with the mill workings behind the bar. Usually up to three real ales, (often has Greene King), occasional guest beers, all well kept by landlord. Has outside seating and children's play area. Food served. Log fire in winter.
