When in the area i often pop into this pub. There are always decent bands on, which are mostly rock covers, but thats in my favour and i haven't heard a band in there i didn't enjoy. The midweek entertainment is also top notch too. Well done for that. Its rare that a pub can bring in a good crowd in the week !! I have never felt unwelcome when i have been in there and most of the staff are friendly apart from the short older gentleman who i believe to be the landlord and a young short guy with dyed blonde hair..... these two have both been fairly rude to myself and other pub goers around me and I dont think i have ever seen these two smile !!! The garden area is huge and clean enough. Get a few rowdy folk out there but nowt who are out for trouble and just those enjoying a night out and are a little loud due to the effects of alcohol. The whole pub itself was clean enough apart from a streak of s**t on the wall of the toilet that was wiped there and is still there at least 8 months on..... otherwise compared to other pubs it was a nice change to find a pub that was clean enough for me to relax in and want to eat in. The pub is in a prime location and easy to get to so thats a bonus and if u are staying on the soft drinks and driving then this pub has a huge car park, but the downside to that is that it is constantly packed no matter what time of the day and night u visit the pub. When time is called i understand that there is alot of people needing to be ushered out of the pub but the landlord does it in a way where u feel like not returning the next week and if he could hold ur mouth open and tip the drink down the back of your throat to hurry u up then i think he would !! All in all though i enjoy coming here and i will be continuing to frequent this pub !

What's the point of a pub with no ale?

I really have to get along to the Brook just for curiositys sake. I cant belive that this pub which was once the fighting capital of west london has re-invented itself as a music venue and good music at that, by all accounts.

Was at the Brook lastnite to see Undiscovered. These guys are brilliant. The pub has such a mix of young & the older people (like me)The owner will be coining it in for years to come.Great night & great entertainment.

Top quality place, nice to see a proper pub surviving in the depressing hell that is Hayes in general.
Very few chav types inside, plenty of them roaming the streets outside. The only thing this pub could do to make things better is mount a machine gun on the roof and invite punters to have a go at shooting a few betracksuited scumbags over a pint of Guinness!
Good work, pub bloke. Wonderful flower display in the summer months, too.

Will definitely pop down there at some stage, the only other decent music pup in the whole area is the Treaty in Uxbridge so it`ll make a change to go somewhere else.

Yeah your right TSW it used to be very lively years ago,in the wrong sort of way.Things have changed in recent times.Brilliant bands on a Friday night now.Check out Undiscovered on the last Friday of every month, they are a bit special...

Really surprised to see the Brook becoming a bit of an indie music pub . I haven`t been there for a few years but in the old days it could get a bit lively if you know what I mean
|
Went to the Brook house last Friday nite.Undiscovered were playing. They must be the best Rock-Indie band around. So talented & very nice lads aswell. Each one of them took the time to have a chat with punters(or fans i should say)in the interval.Unlike other bands who play there that are up their own arses!Well done boys...Great pub, fantastic staff. The owners have got it SPOT ON...

Following their great gig at the Cliffe Music Fest in Kent last month, along with 6 other band's, including my own, STOLEN, HANDLE WITH CARE will be performing at The Kings Arms in Hayes, Coldharbour Lane. (formerly The Standard). I will be providing and engineering the sound & lighting. So far, they have no plans to return to the Brook House. John.

Do Handle With Care still play here?
|
Quality pub...nice venue...great spirit and nice staff. Rumour also has it that the landlord has just bought the Heath Tavern on the uxbridge road to...so looks like a "sister" pub will soon be on its way! WICKED!
|
there is a new band coming, they will blow this venue away, friday the 8 th April will see the debut of...............THE MUTTZ (FREAKIN') KNUTTZ!!!!!! DO NOT MISS THIS!!

Great pub with lovely beer garden - perfect for summer nights. Excellent 'Friday Night Live' venue...check out East of Java and the latest addition 'Undiscovered' amongst others. Excellent and friendly (mostly Irish) staff. Crowded at weekends but good size venue.

Handle With Care are back Friday, 20/2/04. Maybe Ex-RUTS guitarist, Paul Fox (regular guest),could have stayed in the jungle longer than Johnny Rotten. Come along and ask him yourself. John.

Following the magnificent Rugby World Cup win, the Handle With Care gig 22/11 was well received by the very lively, well tanked, but well behaved packed house. I went to see Red Rocket the night before and met the band. They are brilliant. Mike, the drummer, came to our gig to check-out my sound & lighting rigs. I will be there to see their next gig, drinking the excellent black stuff. (No real ale).
