I'm sorry for the mad staring but with those shoes you must get that a lot. This is a spit and sawdust saloon of the first order.

This pub should be a location set for Hammer films, especially dealing with horror movies. Awful pub and mad staring customers, oh, never did see anyone behind the bar, perhaps they had been murdered, left without a drink. Again.

Check before you go - they seem to close when they like. We had arranged to meet friends there at 8.30 last Friday night, only to find a disgruntled group of customers outside who told us that it has just closed 'because they didn't have the staff'!

Great pub for all people of all ages. Shame it closes early on Saturadys for reasons which are totally untrue.

The landlord, Nick, has taken the decision to close every Saturday at 6.00pm. Normally an eminently sensible person I am beginning to suspect his sanity, and to blame it on vandalism and drunks from other premises is just ridiculous and a terrible slur on the people of Corsham. I (used to) visit most Saturday nights for a pint or two and I live about a hundred metres away. He is using (virtually non existant) drunkeness and vandalism as an excuse, much to the disparagement of the community as a whole. He has gone way down in my estimation.

This is my local and is an excellent one at that! Accomodates both the younger and also the wiser in two different sections of the pub, the latter of which I can be regularly found in! a Darts board and open fire make this an ideal outing. Highly recommended!

Excellent local pub. Right hand bar is a typical pub bar - bare boards, bare tables, open fire in winter and hops hanging from the beams. Often very smokey, which is a shame. Left hand bar is a more cafe/bistro atmosphere. Friendly place with great comedy club, folk club, jazz events etc., all held in upstairs function room.
