Now gone.

Now gone back to it's proper name of The Whit Hart, but hasn't gone back to being the nice pub it was years ago.
|
A large airy pub, now called The White Hart with a large standing area and seating located on the left and right of the pub. It had one real ale, Randalls Liberation but they weren't selling much of it because the pub is cleared aimed at young drinkers so wasn't really for me. Music was rather loud on Saturday night.
|
Open plan bar in a convenient location with entrances on both the High St and the Esplanade. Two real ales were available - Fuller's London Pride and Liberation Ale. The atmosphere was a bit noisy on our early Saturday evening visit. Can thoroughly recommend Le Petit Bistro French restaurant opposite, where we had a really good value for money meal afterwards. Not overly impressed with the pub itself though.

Since the refit this boozer has given the spanish-archer to most of the lowlife and as such now has a fine blend of young and old. Simon the main man is a good bloke for a spurs fan and Laura and the girls are up for a good time once you have got to know them and they have realised you are not a mutant. Unfortuantely it is next to that 'refuge of the damned' called , but thats not a major problem as thats for late night drinking and so the two crowds dont really cross each others path. some fit students are in there too and are up for making the night that little bit sweeter from time to time.

One of the worst places to go for a quite drink in the evening. It is located next door to the entrance to one of Guernsey's 'night clubs' and is close to the other two clubs. There are usually 4 ales that rotate on 2 pumps - no local beers.
|
Now reverted to its previous name "The White Hart". Pleasant, lively Town pub.

A mixture of clients! On one hand a clutch of chinless wonders who spend the day shouing 'buy pork bellys' and quite a few more reflective locals. Beer is sold in great volume but the selection is not great.
