Love places like this, open fire, friendly punters, great staff, pool table. Will now be my meeting place of choice when arriving in Clapham Junction.

Both the good and the bad reviews preceding this one hit the mark. Very good range of bottled beers (the reason i come in here) but nearly all the other punters are drinking generic pints of lager. The bottled beer is expensive but then this is directly opposite the station and as i said, the selection is very good. The decor is very goth rock and yes, a bit like a euro bar, however, rather here than every other identikit pub / bar in a 5 mile radius . The toilets (can only speak for the gent's) really need a makeover, as does the whole damp musky downstairs area. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable though, both in terms of beer and rock music. I would definitely come back here when passing for a couple of bottles. wouldn't spend the whole evening though...

Had a pint in this bar before attending a gig at The Grand, and wish I had got in there earlier. It very much reminded me of a bar in Europe. The music was good and the prices not to bad. It is a pity there is not many other bars like this in London. If I lived in the area it would definitely use this bar.

It's hard to see how anyone could rate this bar highly, unless they were an easily impressed twenty-something with deep pockets. It is a bit different with lots of bottled beer, and when we went the bloke behind the bar was a good natured loon. But it's f***ing expensive with no atmosphere. It looks like the sort of crap 'Rock Pub' you find in any European city, where Klaus and Pedro can compare tatoos to a Sports Metal soundtrack. There are some funny pictures painted on the wall and overall it looks a bit like an Amsterdam Coffee shop, but it doesn't really work.

Was introduced to this place by a friend and have been back several times since, always with the same pleasurable result. It's slighty the wrong way from Clapham Junction location won't help to pull in passing trade but the fact it's generally busy shows it's doin things right.
It has a good selection of beers, both bottled and on tap and did a nice pint of mean time the last time I was there.
It may not be to everyones taste but to be honest It's nice to see a bar that's happy to cater to someone looking for something different than the middle of the road look a lot of bars seem to go for.
On a final note if you're the owner/manager do whatever you can to keep hold of the staff here. They're friendly, helpful, efficient and generally just great.

Love it here, one of my favourite places to go, don't go if you want a quiet chat!!
Great selection of beers, great music, it's a very different little place & I'd highly recommend it!

Something different with unique bottled beers.

Went to Clapham Junction last night on a recon mission to find the most appropriate bar to go on Friday night with friends over from Ireland.
I have to say of the six, Project Orange was by far my favourite.
Seriously quirky and odd, unlike any bar Ive been in in London. I suppose it could be the illegitimate pub-child of The Intrepid Fox and a hash bar in Amsterdam called Ricks Caf. With a lot of green lighting, dodgy bad-trip murals and pot plants.
It was quiet but then it was a Tuesday. Got served instantly. Drinks average price. Music was excellent (Red Hot Chilli Peppers/ Beck). I didnt want to leave! Claims to have over 40 beers and it stays open later than most others I tried (1pm).
Its the sort of bar Id go to in California and say if only they had bars like this in London. Might not be to everyones taste (girls with Gucci bags will not like it!) but I will definitely be returning probably this Friday!

Ive been going to Project Orange for a couple of years now. Its a great pub with friendly staff and a great selection of beers and wine. The music is great and much better then anywhere on Northcote. Long live Project Orange

Discard your expecations for this one - eclectic to say the least. Rocky Horror Picture Show decorations, old classic posters. More a music lounge or bar atmosphere than a pub. Young scene but not immature. People sharing tables! Meet the anti-pub: it isn't all-bar-one.

Really an interesting little place, different with plenty of atmosphere. lots of world beers. Think i over-did them as this led to a hangover! I didnt even notice if they have beer on draught. 7/10
The only decent place for those escaping upturned collars, chavs and gold digging bints. Needs better cider choices than the typical Slagners tho.
I was welcomed and I return because of it
If you wear shoes, please dont bother

Continues to offer excellent bottled lagers from around the world. However no sign of Grumpy old men bitter... which is a good sign
Loved it. Very different to the normal pub in the UK. Had a great selection of drinks....cocktails, foreign beers, shorts....you name it. Apparently they have live bands but we left too early. Music a bit loud to have a decent conversation but otherwise.... Great staff. Great fun.
Great unpretentious bar. Music policy is just about the best of any place in London. A bar that plays rock & indie such a rare and precious commodity these days. Not only the best choice in Clapham Junction, but for much of south London.
Great place, cool staff and fantastic beers. Cannot recommend this place enough - especially when compared to some of the other bars in the area...now if only they finished at 2am....
Well i guess it depends on what beer you buy , if its a beer imported from say new zealand then thats what you have to pay if you wanted a cheaper beer then they are there for example san miguel 2.90
having frequented this bar a fair amount , when you go to any other bar certainly in clapham you realise how much they really suck
Its different and certainly comes across as more interesting than some other places in the area. There are many unique beers to try here, however the penalty is the cost. 6.50 for 2 bottles seems extreme
Probably the only cool place to drink in clapham junction.
Loud and very orange
Top drawer. I always go in there even if its for one when I am in the area!
How good is this little venue....Awesome. This is a true music lovers venue although gigs are now held once a month, due to local residence, the quality is fantastic, The promoter, Mark, is a guy that is passionate about music and cares for the bands and artists that perform there. We came down from the Midlands to play this venue and the welcome and atmophere was brilliant, we could'nt have asked for more, although a smallish bar, it puts many a big venue to shame. Great people, Excellent beer, fantastic staff and customers. VERY HIGHLY RECOMENDED
OK no hand-pulled real ales, but some excellent bottles. Particularly if you like 'new world' pale ales [little creatures etc]. But not cheap.
Music is pretty good too.
Though I'm more into my boozers, this bar is pretty good
Easily the best drinking place in the Clapham Junction area. It has an indie feel to it (indie music being played) and a range of beers. The only place I've ever seen Coopers in the UK. Downstairs couches are good on a weeknight for a quiet one. And now open till 1 am on weekends!
A fine place. Beers from all over the place to be had here and cocktails as well, if you like your drinks then come here. Definitely an orange seem, an unusual kind of bar but better than most
I went to a gig night on the insistance of one of my friends. It definately convinced me to go back! The staff are cool and look like they've been hand picked from a catalogue to accomadate all groups (indie, punk, goth, house ect) and the drinks are really good if not a bit expensive. But i'll pay more just to hear good music and have a good time in a funky atmosphere! Well recomended!
Trendy rock themed bar. A bit dark maybe, but they served a very reasonable array of fancy drinks, including Belgian and Czech beers. But you're not supposed to go here for the drinks...you're supposed to go for the atmosphere. The atmosphere was OKish.
I ALWAYS think this place is shut!!! They must do ok cos they've been around for a while. I like it inside it's a good place, but cos its so dark I wouldn't EVER think of it or go there. It just doesnt look inspiring. All good inside though, booze, screen, staff, tables et. BUT ropey watery mixers! STUDENT/UNI VIBE.
Correction: Opening indie night on July 1st, every Saturday afterwards - get involved!
I love this place, it has a cool vibe and some great beer (staropramen..end of story). It is a good size, not too big, not too small, creating a nice atmosphere. Fridays are looking good as well with a new indie night starting on the 1st July, on both floors
Not bad at all. Quite dark and the projector screen often has some fairly odd anime stuff on it, but the music's cool and the beer (Staropramen, as well as some quirky looking fruity stuff) is good. Sort of stand up shouty upstairs (get's busy and loud on weekends) and more chilled downstairs. If you're in/around the Junction, probably your best bet for a session.
Generally considered an "alternative" pub/bar Has a decent size room downstairs to hire.
