Still pretty much unchanged from previous reviews. Still a two bar set up, still a McMullens tied house, still a so-so pint of Country and still useful as a waiting room for the 84.

Nice surroundings apart from the garage across the road. Bar staff friendly. Drinks reasonable. We visited on a bank holiday and the weather was really good. Really enjoyed sitting out although I think they should put out some more tables with a bit more green space. Overall enjoyed it.

Better pub than the Black Horse down the hill. But I still wouldn't recommend this one. At the front there are 2 rooms - a small bar and another room with a couple of tables and a TV. The larger lounge at the rear looked a little more comfortable. The 2 McMullens beers were AK & Country.

The Country wasn't as drinkable on this time. Still okay as a waiting room for the 84.

Has a large-ish lounge and smaller old style public bar set up. Am not a great fan of McMullens but the Country was drinkable here. Doesn't have as unwelcoming and cliquey a feel to it as other pubs in the vicinity probably due to it being on the main road.

After 3 years living in St Albans, I finally visited this pub today. It is a fine place with something for everyone. The food menu in particular is great: 5 "hot" specials, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, baguettes, and Ploughmans. Beer-wise it is standard McMullens (AK and Country Best only), which is a bit disappointing; the pub could do a lot better in this respect but heigh ho. Otherwise the White Hart is spacious with 2 bars and a separate dining area, and is obviously well run. 8/10

Been here a couple of times recently - really great to see a pub with genuine home cooked food on offer rather than the usual pre-prep stuff. Had chicken pie which was genuinely like you'd make yourself at home (and full of chicken!) also jacket potatoe was great and a rump steak and chips. Will deffo be going back, nice atmosphere.
McMullens pub with AK & Country on tap plus another guest beer, was 2.35 a pint if I recall, makes a change from London prices where you don't get two beers for a fiver anymore!

Old fashioned, friendly and great AK - should have been in the GBG before (used to work a mile away but never visted before)

Visited South Mimms last week during our 'mini heat wave' & had a lovely cold pint of Fosters which was very reasonably priced for the area. Would certainly recommend and look forward to my next visit.

Been in this pub recently, have to say quality of the beer not up to much, price was a shock does this pub ? serve up the most expensive lukewarm pint of Fosters in the region, any other nominations I for one would be interested to know. I will not be back anytime soon>

I would say what a nice pub, the food here used to be so nice and home made, im not sure what has changed on the food front but not as good as it was a few years back! think the managment are loosing intrest and pre haps they should consider looking for another pub to make such a go at.The pub and staff are lovley and welcoming but do think the managment need a new challange maybe a larger pub or new type of pub?Landlord is nice, landlady no comment!

Stumbled on this pub quite by accident, but now visit often as it's so nice to find an unspoilt pub (by that I mean no wooden floors, chrome panelling, Ikea furniture or the kitsch ye olde pubbe ale jug decor). The food service has occasionally been hit and miss, but it's still worth a visit to see a real pub with genuine locals and staff.
