A change of pace, having been with the hipsters at the New Inn and the Junction.
Noticed it was packed at 11:30am. What's the reason? Is it the football? Is it the horse racing? Well, they were both on but no - the reason had to be the prices.
This is 2015 and a pint of IPA was £1.75. I commented to the barman that this is the cheapest pint I have seen since the mid nineties. He said I should come back on Tuesday, when its £1.50.
Blimey.
Very lively. I wouldn't bring Mrs Mappiman. Well, I probably would, but she would want to go back to the New Inn.

Choice of 3 ales on including green king and epa. It has a bit of chain feel to it. Large beer garden outside so maybe decent in the summer

Just the six police cars outside last night!

Great place to drink if you enjoy people watching. Adequate beer at a good price. An eclectic mix of clientel......... Pleasent non the less.

Wow! The Stores now actually has cask ale!! AT Wetherspoon's prices! Quite drinkable Pedigree. BUT... that's the only reason to go in there.
|
Used to quite like the stores a couple of year ago and enjoyed drinking from time to time in Harbournes very own wetherspoons. Made recent visit and noticed the below mention refurb which is obvious. They have done a top job and the value is still great....reccomended

the harborne stores has had 2 refubs in the 15 months, its has completley changed along with the clientelle. they serve food 7 days a week, and have great offers on drinks the pub now appeals to everyone over the age of 18. from students to the older generation. it has a great atmosphere and very welcoming, and gets busy at the weekend, id recommend this to anyone to come and see the changes you'll be shocked!!! all the staff have worked really hard in the last 2yrs to achive this well done guys!!

The only pub in Harborne to open at 10 in the am, which was the only reason i went in, no ale so a Guinness was in order, it was terrible. i left half a pint. There isn't a wetherspoons in harborne, if there was this place wouldn't have any customers.

Just moved to Harborne and I dont really know what the problem is with this pub.
Gets very busy, good food menu and cheap prices.
Yeah you get a few weirdos in there, but you get them everywhere.
Just think wetherspoons meets back street local.

Let's just say that I walk past this place every day. There's always vomit on the pavement and the police call regularly. I somehow didn't feel like going in.

Harborne has become the area for "newvo" rich types and is gererally a respectable drinking area. However, it does have it's share of tattooed, knife-wielding in-breds who'd rather attempt to punch their own lights out than to sober up. They are located in The Stores.

one for locals rather than yuppies - if they still exist! - or students, but probably the cheapest pub in Harborne.
|
Strange place, but quite welcoming. No real ale.

Cracking beer - usually! Great atmosphere & a fabulous example of what a local pub should be.
NOT a great place to go on a first date though!!!

you may think that this pub is full of old men, but its not.during the week, the stores is quite boring, but friday and saturday nights are wicked.
