Now the Prewley Moor Arms and under new management as of the last few months.
The signs are promising - Betty Stoggs has been brought in on gravity and the layout's been changed for the better, with a nice snug created by the woodburner to the left of the entrance.
But the space remains awkwardly oversized compared to the amount of drinkers / diners and given its location, up a side street and off the A386 / A30 junction, one suspects that business will continue to be slow outside of the summer season when the campsite next door fills up.

I was disappointed with this pub. Inside felt a bit tacky and like a cafe/resteraunt catering for the hoards of tourists heading for cornwall. That's fair enough if the ale was ok! My fathers and my pint of tribute was off for sure. We won't be back
3/10

I was also worried about offending the gentleman behind the bar when we first walked in and was worried about walking straight back out however he was very friendly and the food we ordered was well worth waiting for. Pub is now the Prewley Moor Arms

This Pub(in particular the beer)was so offensive that I did something that I have never done in my life- left almost a pint of beer(well, vinegar)untouched I ordinarily would have complained but the locals- including the attractive man with his bare feet up on the table- scared me more than the ghouls at the highwayman (which is a far more attractive proposition than this dive)

The Bottleneck Inn is a great pub, if you are travelling down the A30 you can find it on the southside junction of the A30/A386 heading towards Plymouth (you can see it from the sliproad). First on the left(signposted) up a narrow lane which once upon a time must have been the A30 with the pub at the end of the lane. The bottleneck is attached to a caravan site, has rooms in the pub and has bunk rooms. It is very much a bikers pub. the meals are very good and reasonably priced. The music played is generally 6o-80s stuff. They also have all sorts of discos/live music with a dance floor and stage
