I can't understand why this has a rating of 4.8 when all the reviews are very favourable. An excellent choice of beers, all well served. My favourite pub in Llandudno and well worth a 9/10.

I felt this was the best pub in Llandudno.
Good Beer Guide Entry 2019.
Nice covered patio area the front was very present on a summer evening where it was both warm and raining.
Inside, its a couple of houses knocked together with a good bar area and little tables dotted about in alcoves.
Beer wise, I only got as far as the Bass, which was a surprise and in top condition.
Enjoyed our visit.

Areally nice, comfortable pub with loads of couches to sit on.Agood selection of real ales.I had Theakstons Grouse Beater which was spot on,and Cottage Brewing Memphis Belle which was excellent.Well recommended if you want a nice quiet drink.
|
Beer was okay - standard seaside town pub frequented mainly by visitors. Too many sofas.

Stayed just round the corner from this pub and made it my local for the week.Agood selection of Welsh ales plus draught Bass and friendly locals and bar staff.Pity they don't do food other than buns and pork pies.

The Snowdon has really picked its feet up. A good atmosphere and mostly good beer. well done, the perseverance seems to have paid off!
|
been going passed for the last 2 weeks bar opens at 1200 bar stools still on the bar 1430 and not a local in sight. well done Paul
|
this weeks new SWETIE lost more of the old crowd he is doing a good job of closing the pub down. The big boss down at the cottage must be thinking its time for a change

big fight last week bennie hill and the teacher bennie told everyone the teacher likes littel boys

Hadn't been here for a year or so, disappointed to see Tony, Dave and seemingly all the customers gone. Whereas it was always a bit grotty, it had a strong local presence and always a bit of atmosphere. I fear the new licensee is aiming for a clientele that isn't there with the location and all.

new lanlord(very friendly) new cleaner pub and a better pint was however dissapointed to see the same old dross sttod outside the pub get rid of the druggies and the nice people will come in instead of walking past and into town this could be a great pub please sort it out
|
easily the worst pub in town full of idiots and drunks i remember one occasion last year were a dog walked in and cocked it leg up the fruit machine and releived its self and the bar staff found it so hilarious it was not cleaned bad beer worse atmosphere and probably the worst lanlord in town he is the one normaly combatosed at the bar it appears freddy mercury and trigger from only fools and horses had an illigitamate love child

A shame that a dump like this is one of the few places in North Wales that serves Bass.

I was a regular at the Snowdon from August '06 to November '07 while I lvied in Llandudno. The Snowdon might not be trendy, spotless or pretentious but it is a proper, old+fashioned pub, maybe the last real pub in Llandudno. Hello to Tony, Dave, Tonto et al from Huw in rainy Denmark.

Called in the other night, only Draught Bass available, tasted okay but was warm. The lady behind the bar seemed keener to play pool than do her job, the bar counter was covered in unwashed, dirty glasses whilst be supped our pints. This pub is a bit like entering Steptoe's yard, there were four old TVs piled up against one wall! The Snowdon could do with some TLC!
|
Visited only once in twenty years of living in Llandudno. It would be beneficial to your health not to get any closer than the photographer did! The beer was terrible in a warm glass served grudgingly
|
Having been a regular at the Snowdon for over 33 years and also having seen many changes of management over the years, I feel that I have to stand up for the present landlord, He runs a good friendly pub and takes pride in the beers that he sells,It is a local pub in a holiday resort, the customers are of all age groups and the visitors that find it always seem to enjoy themselves, many comming back year after year when they visit the town, So why not give it a try if you are in the area,
|
if you like sticky carpets and offensive shoeless staff dirty glasses(no glass washer!!) and very bad beer go for it!!

Having been a Snowdon local for over 30 years and seen a few landlords come and go I feel qualified to reply to mrdruse. Since the present Landlord has been in residence I have never been served a bad pint, indeed I concider the beer quality to be excellent as is the choice of guest. The smoke is no worse than anywhere else and yes, in a small pub the locals will look to see who's just walked in! And so what if the bar staff have got tattoos - did they serve you a full pint?
|
Unlike the previous reviewer,I have been going into the Snowdon for 10 years.Every time we come down here I make a beeline for this friendly and welcoming little pub. Great selection of guest ales and the Bass is as good as I've had anywhere in the country
|
If you would like to fight your way though a thick blanket of smoke and through the stares of the locals for a bad beer (lines not cleaned regularly) then this is your place. Has 2 real ale pulls, one of which was a Bass which had been done a disservice for being taken care of so poorly by the tattoo covered staff.
