tried to watch the football on sunday afternoon.
according to the barstaff they dont show football, only rugby.
i understand that they are trying to keep out what they percieve as the chavvy element but not everyone who likes football is a yob.
took my money to the white elephant down the road which was unsurprisngly packed with people watching the football and spending money on drinks.

and people tend to think the people in the picturedrome are stuck up snobs. couldnt think why.

"2.90 for a guinness, bit steep"? that's not a comment, that's a factor that keeps the riff raff out. northampton has a reputation for heavy drinking but the prices here keep the clientelle ad the resulting atmosphere. hats off to the manaer monty for the intense entertainment lineup each month. this place is always busy, on stage and in the seats... check in...

This place is awsome innit. +Bar staff the dogs nutz! All the staff have crazy hair and they all shower twice daily so theyz Freshest in town. Go to this bar and the staff will make you feel good. And thats a guarantee.

I love this pub, It's full of charachter - great entertainment - awesome music and generally to cool for school.
I tend to eat here all the time as the food is so tastey and the Belgian Chocolate Waffels rock!!
The staff are all lovely and generally know everyone or take the time to get to know there regulars.
Someone put down that the people that go there are stuck up, well I totally disagree. I wonder if you had the nerve to tell all the guys with Dread locks etc if they were stuck up to their faces? Now that would be entertainment!
Top marks, good beer and no chavs!

Stuck up? Would rather say what a breath of fresh air this place (and the crowd in it) is. This is definitely NOT for your average Chav! Good location - right opposite the Racecourse park in Northampton and anyone living in Abington can consider it their 'local'. Great front bar - louvered windows are opened the minute the sun shines which is a good substitution for pavement-cafe-style-drinking. Back bar is cavernous - think it actually used to be a cinema back in the day. Good live music (of all sorts), cool DJ's, food not too bad either (they actually do a take-away service if you ask them). All in all, quite a cool addition to the N'pton nightlife scene.
