Drove by this place on my way to the Tudor Arms, don't know what it is now but it doesn't look like a pub anymore.

Pub closed. Being replaced by something named The Buffet Lounge apparently.

Id say the atmosphere is more depressing than intimidating. Theres hardly anybody in there most of the time and when it is busy it seems to be full of kids. It has all the hallmarks of a pub dying on its arse and the lease has been up for sale for some time with no takers. Its a shame because it has a decent location with a lot of space and there are not many decent pubs nearby.

I can only assume that Quagmire ( what a very appropriate name for someone whose only comment is about this pub ) has very low expectation. Just look at all the other comments going back over the years, and decide whether I am taking the proverbial.

philanders - get a life! Looking through your comments for all the pubs you have commented on you might be better off with the nickname Victor Medrew - failing that - just do the suicide thing.
|
Never mind the scruffy clientele and landlord, this place is worse inside than it looks outside. It's just a dump !!!

Keep your sword drawn, and your back to the bar.

Other comments are giving credit to the new Landlord. I think the pub is deffinately on the up! and worth a drink to make your own decision about it!

Good chav pub. Better and safer than it was 15 years ago. But still feels unfriendly. More to do with the scruffy clientele than the staff.

Watch your back indeed. Without wishing to be too rude, the only time I've ever been scared in a pub is in this one. Worst pub in Watford (and that's saying something, sadly).

It's not that bad. OK for sport watching, beer fair and the punters aren't that scary. Better than the Wishing Well up the road. Atmos in the pool room can get a bit hairy, though there's nothing to get too scared about. Some people have led sheltered lives!

I wouldn't touch it with yours.

By far the least friendly pub I visited during my 3wks in Watford. To call the staff rude is being polite. Thought the plastic windows were a nce touch. Watch your back.
