Nice Pub, friendly staff, ales are Spitfire, Bombardier and Tribute, they are all top notch but the Tribute is the best for me.

top boozer, great people, warm friendly atmos. New Years Eve was a blast, I played here and found everyone to be on great form! Come see Donut play here Sunday 3-7. Might even dedicate a song to you, so I will.

Nice atmosphere, mostly a locals pub, with a nice beer garden out the front, small bar inside. Have not tried the food so can't comment, but the beer is always fresh.

I was fortunate to play live in this excellent pub on Saturday night with my band (The Capris) - for a function that Paul and Mark had put on (guys I hope I have got your names right!!!) for my Aunts birthday and everyone enjoyed the night. We loved playing there, but what people might forget is that its not always the band that makes the night. We found the pub to be a really nice boozer, clean as you like, well stocked of decent beer, friendly locals and all in all, a night we will remember for some time. I popped in again Sunday for a cheeky shandy and sat in the beer garden at the front in the sun and found the place once again relaxing and just right! Nice one gents, I will pop in for the curry night soon and sample the cuisine as well as the pints! Cheers

The selection of beverages available to all is VERY accomodating, whether you are single, or a Family. The food is usually served lunch times, but, the Landlord is VERY accommadating. - If it is not on the Menu, they can USUALLY cater for you. Wednesday evening is CURRY NIGHT! - HOT!! and plentiful, and value for money! The music is varied, and caters for everyone. ( just let the Landlord know your Style..) Functions/Party's'/Seasonal.... They will do what they can to accomodate you. HIGHLY recommended for ALL ROUND , well, whatever you want for some time "out". A WELL WORTH Pub to try out in the area.

Thank you for bringing this site to my attention. I note the comments made and am fully aware of who is who here.If you enjoy the pub then great support it,If not feel free to drink where ever you want.
I was not amused at some of the derogatory remarks made towards margaret who is a friend of mine, so kindly stop it please. For the record i do not use the stag and hounds, do not know the landlords and certainly have not posted anoymous comments about their pub. kind regards paul and the team. The whip and collar

looks like some feathers have been ruffled!i still think this is probably the better pub in the area, better class of people and us ladies can be assured of a nice safe evening without the riff raff. as to the comment on the prices, my mother still says you get what you pay for, paul and mark have always bought me a drink and have always been very pleasant to myself and my friends, always a good selection of wine and as for the music! good luck you guys with your new venture you deserve a pat on the back!

We first went to this pub on the opening night & were very impressed by the gorgeous 2 barmen who were so friendly & professional when greeting us. We have since been to the Motown nights & a Halloween bash when I dressed as a witch with a purple wig & my boyfriend was a vampire! The pub is spotless & the glasses are exceptionaly clean which makes a great impression on a lady. The best thing I can say is that they serve a wonderful ice bucket of chilled champagne! Keep up the good work fellas! Beverly & Russ from Watford

As for the comment on "no food on sat night" i was served by the owner on sunday and had a welcome feast! as many who live in the area, we always eat out in windsor on a weekend, the bar was packed out but i was accomodated nicely 10/10 for the welcome i received in this establishment. the food is great! no competition locally.

watch this page carefully, saw the comments and i can say i was "impressed" the atmosphere in the pub was something long gone from the good old days. the guy's running this gaff know their stuff. welcoming friendly and bloody good selection of beer !

i was amazed at the friendly staff and the nice clientelle. it is not a young pub and neither is it stuffy. everyone is welcome from the disabled to children. they appeared to cater for most tastes. the negative is that they are not open all day and its a shame that they do not do food in an evening. saying that the pub is small and quaint

this pub has changed hands in the last year or so, gone is the frosty atmosphere, the pub is always clean and tidy the food is great and the portions are generous. good selection of real ales in peak condition.nice clientelle. great music from the motown era, we have visited this pub on a regular basis since the change over, the barstaff are always pleased to see you and are most welcoming. without doubt the only real old pub left in the area !

Have been to this quaint homely pub a number of times. Lunchtime food is excellent. Both locals and bar staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Great selection of beers - always served with a smile. Nice open fire in the winter time and sunny patio in the summer time. Will definately revist and recommend it. In my opinion the best pub in the area.

Bit of a Slaughtered Lamb for me this pub. When I walked in early on a Saturday evening, the place went quiet, and when I asked the barman if they were serving food he looked amazed (WHY ????) Like a few others I drove around that Saturday night, they don't do food on Saturdays ! Didn't stop for a drink so my rating is purely for first impressions of the place.
