Popped in here before and after football last week. Friendly bar staff and locals, nice pint of OBB. Warm and welcoming overall , I'd like to go back!

A very pleasant place not bad for a Sam Smiths Pub.

Good value food lunchtimes in traditional surroundings. Restaurant area is to rear of premises and can be accessed direct via yard to avoid front bar if with family. Deservedly popular Friendly long serving landlord and usual cheap drinks. Massive games room in baronial splendour on first floor. Worth a visit

Popped in here for a beer the other evening. Very quiet, but then it was quite early. Can't say I'm a huge fan of Sam Smiths, but it was in good condition, and can't knock it at 1.60 odd a pint.

Traditional, quiet pub located near the town centre. Its got quite a dated feel to it, but nothing at all wrong with it. Its a Samuel Smiths pub, so the range of beers was a little disappointing (unless you like their offerings) with their Old Brewery Bitter on hand pump, plus two more of their beers on tap. Also SS cider. Prices were very reasonable. Theres an upstairs games room with three pool tables, although this was almost deserted even on a Saturday night.

Although a Sam Smith's house with predictable beers, found this to be a pleasant place which should be visited on any trip to Stamford.

Definately an old time pub, but that gives it a certain charm. It is like stepping back in time 40 years or so, I like it. Samuel Smith beers only, which although not highly regarded are perfectly drinkable. The Best Bitter is nice. I have not tried the food here so can't comment. All in all a nice , quiet little pleasant pub.

Pleasant pub with front area for beer and back area for food. Beer is Sam Smiths, so perfectly drinkable but not outstanding, but very inexpensive. A good place to go to avoid the crowd at weekends (busy lunchtimes though). Decor somewhat worn, especially in the front bar. There are better places in Stamford, especially if you are looking for a wider selection of beer, but this is well worth a visit if you are in Stamford. Nothing is outstanding but everything is certainly good/acceptable. It is not especially popular with chavs or the football crowd.

A nice friendly pub! First time I'd been back in 33 years, it's changed, but not too much! the Sams Smiths was excellent and locals that were in there were friendly and helpful in filling in the missing pieces about the pub as it was back in 1972!!

This is my favourite pub in Stamford. Always my fist port of call. The staff are very friendly. It's a Samuel Smith brewery so the beer is a bit different. Definitively give it a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.
