Definately gone.. It's now a Mediteranian Sea food Restaurant

Not sure it's closed for a refurb. When I went past last night there was a big sign saying reopening soon as a restaurant. So another pub lost in these troubled times, but as I've never seen more than half a dozen ever in and have always walked past to The 'Spoons a few doors up I don't think anyone's going to miss it.

Closed At Present for Refurbishment.

During my recent visit here I received a very polite service and found a nice comfy seat to watch some football on a big plasma screen and read my newspaper. There was also another big plasma and various normal TV sets dotted around the pub. It was very quite with four people sitting at the bar and two people playing on the pool table.
Theres a choice of very bog standard lagers and Greene King IPA, which is not very imaginative.
The smoking area advertised at the rear of the building is actually a car park with two benches in it overlooking Asda. There were another 2 old Irish gentlemen sitting outside bringing the grand total of people in the pub to eight, one of which was the barmaid and another I think was the landlady. Something that I have never seen before were the smoking heaters that cost 20p for 5 minutes and 1 for 25 minutes Whatever next?
I didnt have an awful time, but this is not a great boozer and Ill probably never return as there are far better places nearby.

Completely devoid of atmosphere. Was here on Saturday and there were 4 or 5 people sitting at the bar on their own watching the football. Nobody was talking, it was weird

I went in here again tonight to see If it was just the bank holiday weekend that it was so quiet. So on the way home from work tonight I just went in for a quick pint and Oh dear its not got any better the Guinness was terrible & there was Just Two customers In the place why has someone turned a good Irish style Pub into a cheap Chinese Restaurant with Expensive Beer and no atmosphere whatsoever. This place used to be busy every night of the week now its deserted.

Oh Dear what have the new management done to this Pub its now absolute trashy looking with no customers whatsoever. I went in there last night at 17:00 and there were no other customers only me on a Friday night. I used to go to this Pub every Friday up to about a year ago when i worked in Southgate and it was packed solid with customers when the Irish couple were running it. Now its like a cheap Chinese restaurant with expensive Beer and no Drinkers.

Since the last comment posted on this site i myself have paid visit to the wishing well southgate. My experience was somewhat different to the other decribed but indeed i was informed the pub was under new managment. I found the pub to be clean with a quite but never the less friendly atmosphere, the service for both food and drink was exceptional and i would highly recomend a visit to all.

Sloppily run, weird atmosphere. It is strange to walk into a pub and get a dirty look off the bar staff, who then ignored me. They seemed a bit, er, worse for wear and keener on talking to each other than serving customers. I eventually got served by the landlord just as I was about to leave. It might just have been a bad day, but the pub was hardly sparkling on my other couple of visits either. The clinical Wetherspoons pub down the road (New Crown) beats it hands down for warmth and welcome. Which just about says it all.
