Decent enough, but the comments about the "hotel atmosphere" would still seem to apply. I hadn't been here is 20 years, but it hasn't changed that much in that time. Courteous staff, decent food, a rather elderly clientele. 6/10

Nice wine, friendly staff and a quiz machine. Not too shabby at all.

Has improved greatly under new, young, enthusiastic ownership and is now a credit to the owners and village
Decent beer (although they don't serve Nethergate any more, boo) and decent food. Very friendly service and a bit more life. It's beginning to return to the village hub it always should have been

Very much a hotel atmosphere, a shame as it would make a fantastic local. Food overpriced for what it is, waitresses and locals friendly but current management do not give the impression of being particularly competent. Fantastic building and great location though.

An OK pub, but definitely a hotel atmosphere in the lounge. Friendly enough crowd around the bar and the beer is decent. Food was excellent, took a real dive last summer but has improved again since

Good beer from the Nethergate brewery across the street. Pleasant tranditional decor, but a rather dull "hotel" atmosphere.
