The latest manager behaves unprofessionally and has a tendency to have anger management issues. Overall experience is mediocre. New management is needed. Other guests have complained of the manager being violent and aggressive and previous employees have complained of physical and mental abuse from the manager. I wouldn't recommend this pub till management is changed.

It wouldn't do any good Hounslow social services raiding it, it is actually in Richmond. Can relate to most of what has been said by others I am amazed it has survived this long walked past it on 5 or 6 nights and there was 3 or 4 people in there despite football being on the telly and they are football mad and this included a Chelsea match normally packed when Chelsea are on telly. At long last it has a chance to make a name for itself being the only pub between the cross lances in hounslow and the swan in hanworth.

Passed this place around 7pm on a Sunday evening.A suitable place for a raid by Hounslow social services I'd say by the number of unpleasant looking women with small children, smoking & drinking outside.Others in the pub of school age.Ideal preparation for the school week ahead! This pub seems popular with the kind of people even the Jeremy Kyle show wouldn't allow through the door.

WARNING TO LIAM AND JAMIE TOMPKINS ILL FIND YOU AND KICK THE SHIT OUT OFF YOU PLEASE ALL DRINKERS MAKE THEM AWARE OFF THIS. PUBS A SHITHOLE.

The place is a s**thole everythings filthy and people are pikey and vicious. Such a pity as this pubs got huge potential but its reputation will never change. Oh and a message to everyone in there get a job, Im sick of paying tax for you simple minded fools.

We find it very friendly in there, only stuck up people write about "knuckle scrapers" etc... Yes theres plenty of kids there but it's good if you're a parent. Saying that, it is very smokey and we try not to go too often for that reason, will be better in June.

Although the pub is in desperate need of a refurbishment (Its gone to long for just a lick of paint!) I do feel that the staff and customers are very friendly, they are trying very hard to keep the unwanted out and the atmosphere has become on the whole a lot more pleasent.
Only problem I have... feels more like a school playground on a sunday than a pub. Shouldn't these parents be at home cooking roast dinners instead of sitting in a pub ignoring there kids? ... or perhaps I'm a little old fashioned and its OK to let under 10's lungs feel with smoke whilst getting drunk!

My last posting was taken down for some strange reason!!
maybe it was too honest a review.
nothing has changed, this place is full of pykies & younge & old chavs. the beers over priced & badly stored etc.
if anyone has anything good to say about this place i'll eat my computer.
if this posting gets taken down then beerintheevening is becoming soft & letting landlords bully them into taking down honest reviews. look at my other reviews etc, why did my review of this pub get taken down?????

Hmm, this pub, in theory, should be my local but have only been in a couple of times in the last few years. I wouldn't say it's THAT bad but personally I would rather go into central Whitton or Hampton.

It took a long long time before I ever went in this pub, merely due to the appalling reputation it has for unsavoury patrons, mainly due to it's location at the Hounslow end of Powdermill Lane in Whitton.
Visited on a Tuesday night for a quick pint, was pleasantly surprised. The beer was OK, the pub itself was clean, staff friendly, there was a jukebox and a quiz machine. True, some of the local's knuckle's were scraping the floor, but as long as you keep yourself to yourself it is possible to have a nice drink in here. Perhaps best to avoid on football days though. And go to the curry house nearby - It is excellent.
