I agree with everything Helbobby has said. Just one thing to add - after walking up and down The Cheviot Hills all day, the Radox bottle in the bathroom is a nice touch.

Just had a stay here after finishing the Pennine Way. Staff were friendly, helpful, food great, good range of ales on draught and bottled - the Pennine Way Bitter is a must for walkers and a nice brew too. Pub itself is nicely turned out, the room was spot on with large bath and shower. Lovely setting, highly recommended

Pleasant bar with outdoor seating by village green. Lovely rural location. Clientle a mixture of locals and tourists. Good food. Good beer. Worth visiting!

Now fully repaired and renovated following the fire. Great food (popular at weekend evenings, best to call and book a table), well-kept beer - easily one of the best pubs in Scotland in my biased opinion!

Following a serious fire there is no accommodation available until repairs are complete - expected to reopen as hotel in Spring 2007. But since July 2006 the bar and kitchen is back in action. Great food menu and excellent real ales. Try the Broughton IPA if available, although guest beers may vary. Top quality en suite B & B available at Cross Keys House, opposite the pub across the village green.

The pug is at the end of the Pennine way and offers excellent accomodation and food. Also gives free drink to walkers finishing Pennine way walk. New owners took over in April 2004
