This is a place that is rather mixed. Whilst the beer is reasonable (Harvey's, with two other guest beers and lots of fizzy things like foreign lagers) and whilst the servers try very hard and are very friendly, the modern furniture seems very out of place and more suited to a gold course club, as the decor is brick-and-beams 1930s. The portions of food are decent and the prices reasonable, I don't really think that I would go here out of choice if I didn't have to visit relatives nearby. It is "all right" but not much more. 5/10

The landlord and lady here are very friendly and work their backsides off to make this place a success; for that reason alone it is worth spending a bit of your money in here. The pub itself is large but probably a bit more focussed towards the eating public than the drinking; having said that they do make an effort to serve decent ale too. There's a garden, but it's not all that.

Really nice pub. Dog friendly, pool table in public bar. Very good pint of Harvey's. Couldn't ask for more in this location.

On our Sunday lunchtime visit we enjoyed attentive service from the friendly and welcoming staff in this inviting pub. We ate in the bar area where the tasty food was served promptly and efficiently; clearly this independent establishment are well versed in providing a first-rate catering service. There is a large comfortable looking restaurant and a garden at the rear, plus a few tables strangely positioned in the large car park. The beers are well kept, perhaps the food is a little on the pricey side, but this can be forgiven when the quality is so high. Some great views to the south downs, but restricted from the garden unfortunately.

lovely pub - lovely food - staff great

Friendly but rather bland - spent some pleasant Sunday evening here when staff will chat to you and make you very welcome. At busier times it's rather a food tread mill however.

Thatched pub in suburban area. Has ingelnook fireplace and beams, but was built in 1956. Comprises games bar, a lounge and restaurant extention. The London Pride is in particularly good condition. Even the Greene King ipa is very decently kept. Worth a detour for.

if you like your food from a microwave, eat here. food expensive, and so is the beer. nice drop of london pride though!!

Great pub. Quality home cooked food, and decent well kept beers. Even has a dart board and pool table in the public bar. A proper country pub.

Largish pub with restaurant area attached. Typical pub food that's quite good if a little pricey. Friendly landlord and staff, beer not at all bad, London Pride especially good.
