Proper pub with a good atmosphere and genuine character. Front area is high stools and wooden floor. Back bar is carpet and comfy seats. Quirky wrought iron horns or vine tendrils over front bar. Four casks. Beer is over £4 a pint.

Not a bad boozer, but lacks a certain something and is very expensive!

all forgiven, all better, all working, all wonderful.

Best pint of beer I had in Southampton on the day. staff seemed a little reserved,

Not a bad pub for watching the football in, although judging by the other reviews here, it may once have been much better. The sign (see the picture above) is a thing of wonder and gets the place a couple of extra points on the strength of this alone.

went back for a summer (end of) slug. I am sorry to say it, but anonymous is correct. What happened to this place? It is truly awful.
|
Used to be great, yes its been polished up which has lost some of its charm.
|
This pub is awful, it has undergone considerable "restoration" which has spoilt it. Berr is of a consistently low standard with high prices; it is also frequented by large numbers of idiots. AVOID at ALL COSTS

Very good pub. Always clean, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere. Admittedly not cheap, but nor is anywhere else on Oxford Street.
|
popped in for a packet of fags while eating at Oxfords. Superb boozer, really good place to have a drink. Been back regularly. Never eaten there but beer is ace.
|
One of the few unspoilt pubs in this area. Nice beer, nice food, good vibes.
|
The best pub in Oxford Street. Can get very busy but nice atmosphere.

Great pub in ocean village. Nice area, exquisite beers kept really well. Good friendly staff. Prices fairly high but worth paying for the excellent atmosphere. Top bombing!
