Old traditional pub in a lovely setting with a beer garden to the side. Only 3 locals ( but all 3 English!) in the bar around 5.30pm but an hour later it was very busy with locals and tourists alike. Food menu looked interesting but we didn't eat although a family were enjoying a cream tea in the garden on our arrival. Two handpumps serving Atlas Wayfarer and Cairngorm Sheepshaggers Gold at £3 per pint, the cheapest we found during our holiday.

Still great. Fyne Ales Highlander was very enjoyable. Does no one else go here?

Possibly the last pub in Scotland still serving Tartan Special along with Orkney Red MacGregor and Atlas Vital Spark which is what I had and enjoyed.

Once again I totally failed to drive past, several times! Had lunch, my fresh local mussels were lovely, ny nephew's local prawns were large and plentiful and the home made burgers were highly praised by my son and my father. It's nice to know that you can still buy Tartan Special though I also enjoyed the Fyne Maverick and the Atlas ale that I had. You'll get my next update after my holiday next year, unless I've moved there!

18th Century pub situated next to the historic Atlantic Bridge which joins mainland Scotland to the slate island of Seil.
I too, won't bother to bore you with the history as to why the pub is known as "House of the Trousers".
The pub offers standard bar meals and, on my September visit, a couple of real ales, of which the Atlas Wayfarer from a local micro went down well.
There is a pleasant outside drinking area with a view of the bridge and the river. Close by is a souvenir shop selling postcards and photos - many of the pub itself. There is an honesty box for payment as it is unstaffed.
If you haven't got a car, Seil Island is accessible by bus from Oban ( infrequent service )

Like my father and big brother before me it is a rare thing for me to be able to drive past this pub. In truth, I only can when it hasn't opened yet and even then I sometimes stop and wait....

Lovely country pub slap-bang in the middle of nowhere. Good Fyne ales (Somerled in particular) and an interesting selection of locals. Right next to the Atlantic Bridge, so very, very scenic. Highly recommended.

The only pub for miles around (on the road to the Puffer Inn, Easdale Island just after the Atlantic Bridge). Has one or two well kept real ales on at any time. Fantastic wooden structure for seating around corner of bar. Food very good. Name means House of Trousers, go there to learn the history. Only one problem the landlord needs a personality implant - must be the quietist Scotsman ever!
