the more of these places open the the more the pub trade suffers. if you like proper pubs walk on by.

Poor effort for the smoking fraternity

When this place was first open, you did get the idea of what they were trying to achieve, but also that it was done on a bit if a budget. It has been updated a fair bit now, with an upstairs bar and dancefloor being added for those inclined to dance. It's not as cool as it could be, but personally I like it. It's contemporary and the space has been fairly well utilised, however the toilets ate still lacking in presentation, and the beer garden could do with a bit nore work. It has a good selection of beers/spirits etc, but stay clear of the Absinthe/Jaegermeister/Goldschlager, unless you want to fly without wings and then crash and burn.(Me, me, me!) It's always busy on the weekend, but since the addition of the upstairs "disco" their has been an increase in the attendance of the "peasant underclass", which is not helped by the weedy and unimposing doormen.

Well, been away for a while and you did not like my last comments as they have been removed.

They were only meant in jest......... I thought they were funny, sorry for any offence.

Great place to chill. Good mix of young and not so young.

really chilled bar. Just goes to show that a bar doesn't need to be fancy to attract a good crowd, have no trouble, and a great atmosphere. Keep up the good work guys!

Decor's not that great but much better than the Robbies pubs. Fab atmosphere and the staff are dead friendly and knowledgeable. Just don't be persuaded to have an 88% Balkan Vodka - Finished me off! Loving the beer garden, it's just like being on holiday! Best pub/bar in hazel grove.

I think that someone has been tasting a little too much of that foreign beer before they made their comments?!?

Granted, the Lounge is a nice change from the other pubs in the Grove. Yes, they do have a fine selection of alcohol and it's a chilled atmosphere with decent music.

But it looks NOTHING like a decent town bar. It looks like the double glazing shop it once was after changing rooms have been in but with a 10 budget. The paint work is awful, the girls loos are dreadful (dirty and smelly) and the few seats that they have are so low its like being back in primary school. They could so with investing in a bit of dulux and some new, comfy chairs and tables made for people over 4ft.

It is a nice place to spend a quiet Friday night but as an alternative to town?

quite simply a breath of fresh air in what is a very stagnated hazel grove. sick of old mens pubs and rough fun pubs like me? then try the lounge out for size.
its only small but it has a great laid back amosphere and decor that would suggest manchester city centre.
young and old alike seem to mix well, enjoying the best drinks selection in the area by far!
they have cocktails and shooters and a massive range of belgian beers and some great draught lager - i've not seem amstel on draught that i can remenber!

Went to the Loung for the first time the other night, all I can say is WOW !, For a small town bar this makes you feel like you are in Manchester city centre.

A funky house DJ was spinning some disks in the corner of the bar and it was full of 'Cool' people, I even noticed a guy from Emmerdale.

Drink selection is the best in the area by a mile, loads of obscure Belgian Beers, A full menu of World Beers, Shots, Shooters, Cocktails, Staropramen and Amstel on tap. This place is great !
