Closed and now a residential site

Or better still, go on towards Langport, where you'll find the Halfway House in Pitney. Better by far!

This pub is closed. The owner bought in March 2008 and it is now a developement site. Lots more pubs in Somerton...try The Globe Inn.

Looked boarded up when I passed on a bus yesterday! Anyone know any more?

Has very well kept Burrow Hill cider. Hope this continues to be sold after the change-over.
|
lets hope so! its about time somebody came up with a half decent pub in Somerton
|
This pub has now been sold. Expect to see some exciting things happening here.

My experience was friendly enough, but I did find the public bar dreary and in need of some sprucing up.
There's a bookmaker across the street and you can find all the betting slips you need right there at the bar. Make of that what you will.

Not the most attractive pub in a very attractive small town. The decor in the lounge bar is still as it was during the 60's (wood effect cladding on the walls) and the public bar is basic. A couple of ales on when I went (a Sunday evening) and my first pint was pretty ropey but was exchanged without argument for a better one from the other pump. Locals were very friendly and chatty but the pub really needs some money spent on it.

Somerton is widely known for having loads of really great real ale pubs.......I dont think so. So being the best in town is not quite such an accolade as you might expect. scatty service, very average pub food, dodgy ladies skittles team.......but certainly trying hard, so 6/10, but a fair way to go still...

Lovely friendly pub. Beer is excellent, very well polished and worthy to be in CAMRA would recommend it to all in search of hoppiness! Nice food too and lots of it. We will certainly be going back.

A Very friendly pub in the town centre. Has some of the BEST REAL ALES in Somerton. Pub is now in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2007. Deserves to be too. I believe that this is the ONLY pub in Somerton to be in the guide. Good selection of Wines available too. Good Food, especially Sunday lunches.
Recommend this pub anytime !
