Re-opening next month September 2018 as The Leytonstone Tavern, same owners as The Duke Wanstead so expect it to be on the gastro-ey side with emphasis on real ale and food.

Good news, featured to today's local newspaper, expected to re-open mid-August.

Worryingly dead on our last visit on a saturday night. Where is everyone?

Lovely place.
Split into two bars with different decors, this is a little hidden gem of Leytonstone. The staff and patrons are all very friendly and welcoming and the beer is great!
Well done!

Had a revisit last friday. Very friendly staff and locals and a great panelled interior in the 'old' bar.

Not a bad place at all. Don't go in very often but it has a nice atmosphere. After asking which beers were on hand pump, my dad was told by a surprised barmaid that the hand-pumps were "just for show!"

Well, the Land Lord (John) and Land Lady (Pearl) are very popular with the punters,,On a Sunday Night Everyone has a fantastic time singing on the special karaoke machine (I say special because you type the number of the song into the Mic yourself - -great stuff...They have a cat called mitsy who is about 17 years old and is part of the furnature....Friendly bar staff - my fav is Karren because she is very well educated and has always been very polite,,,,,Karren (Can I have my book back please) Yes, this truly is a nice pub (oh, free pool on a wednesday night)to hang out in 2.45 a pint, though worth the money......watch out for mad shirley

Friendly neighborhood tavern dating back to early 20th century. Rebuilt after damage in WWII. Nice outdoor seating.
