Large, very Spoons-like multi-purpose town pub with surprisingly good local micro beer from what looked like a very ambitious range, though Sunday evening is always a difficult time to gauge beer turnover in St Helens. Friendly.

My earlier review was changed after complaints from the management. It's not a bad place but I've been to many friendlier places. Good for large screen sport but not the most welcoming pub in St Helens.

The counting house is deffinately one of the best pubs in St Helens, me and my
Husband go in every time we go out wether its for a night out or just out for something to eat. The food is really good and excellent prices too, good range of drinks at good prices its just a great place to be. The staff are all very friendly defo 10/10 in my oppinion :-)

Not a bad pub with decent entertainment, unfortunately the management just want your money and do not care about the staff or customers. Hopefully a new manager will add personality to this pub before all the regulars leave.

without a doubt the best pub asthetically in st helens, i like the smoking area too - it shoudl be a hell of a lot busier though, so they must be doing something wrong! unless people who remember it when it was the forum and they now assume that they are 15 years too old to be there!?!?
it would be nice to see this place do well though

Good place this, probably the best in St.Helens. Good range of drinks and nice food. Plus this place boasts the most stunning Polish barmaid i`ve seen in many a year... simply stunning !

the assembly is a top night out drinks are cheap and it has a variety of music so no matter what mood ur in ur bound to dance at some point. thursdays are the best night to go in, i hardly miss a thursday night in there.

It has great music at both the day and the night. You can enjoy a relaxing, chillin drink in the day or live it up on a night (the best is thursday nights!) and dance the night away! With all time drinks promotions and special offers on most nights, this place is a clear winner!! Also the bar staff are very friendly and really easy to get on with which is a great bonus! This place is a must when you are out in St.Helens!
