aint this pub closed....?

The only possible reason to visit this pub is the early evening quiz with a 6.30 start - which is ideally timed for office workers (most pub quizzes start too late and are designed for people who need to go home to have their tea: i.e. not proper drinkers). Apart from that, hovers between unremarkable and downright poor on most fronts.
|
Tend to agree with the poor reviews - a very mediocre place. Oppressively hot when I visited, as well.
|
The only puzzle is why anyone goes in there. Dire.

I used to have the misfortune of working across the road from here. Our nearest pubs were this and the Yorkshire Grey so the choice was rubbish or further rubbish. The puzzle had to be single handedly one of the most hideous places I've been to.

Mince Ikea-looking 'pub'. Unique selling point being that the entire frontage opens up onto the No. 45 Arriva bus to King's X.
Handy if you a)get home via King's X and you can't be arsed to walk far from the pub to the bus and b)love blond wood flooring. Not handy if you a)generally prefer to drink beer diesel-free b)have moved on from the 'all floors must be pine-laminate' school of interior decoration.
Used to be the Old Monk, which was also pants.

This pub has full front openning doors so that, in the summer, the whole bar front can be openned for the fresh air of a major London bus route.

Total gash!!!
Don't like this place at all. FAR too light.
I remember when it was The Old Monk and it was sh*t back then too.

Um..... pub or rubbish art gallery?
I don't like this pub. It's expensive it's cold and it just doesn't feel like a pub. Rubbish
